pulled teeth post care Hey guys, Tobie had to have 5 teeth removed today when he went to get neutered. The neuter part was fine, but the vet was more worried about his jaw. Apparently he has a misaligned jaw that when he closes his mouth, his lower teeth fit inside the upper teeth and touch the hard palate on the top....does that make sense? visual....I know....anyway, they removed 3 baby teeth and two lower canines and told us just to watch him and if it looks like its causing problems in the future, they will refer us to a specialist....dental specialist for dog...I've heard everything. So for discharge care, no pulling on ropes, chewing on bones, hard food or rough play for the next 2 weeks. Has anyone tried feeding their pup baby food or heard if that's okay in case he doesn't eat soft food from a can? He's a little picky with soft foods. Any thoughts on the baby foods? Tobie's mommy:confused: |
The only caution with baby food is to make sure it does not contain onions. Beyond that, your baby should be in heaven! You could also try making your own. Boil some chicken then puree it in the blender with water or low salt, low-fat chicken broth. Same would go for turkey and for beef. Other options are to feed eggs, plain yogurt (no artificial sweeteners), cottage cheese and plain pasta or rice (regular or brown). |
