Mild Trachea collapse? This morning at 5am Spryo jumped out of his sleep doing the reverse sneezing or at least thats what i thought it was. but it started sounding a lot worse and he looked very uncomfortable. it also lasted a total of 25 minutes. We were able to get an appointment for early this morning to see the vet and she said he has a mild case of tracheal collapse:confused:. She said he would be fine and that as long as he doesnt have a collar on( which i dont use anyway), he should be ok, but to monitor him and let her know if this happens again. this weekend he stayed with my mom and both my parents smoke( i did ask they take it outside), but im wondering if they smoked inside, could that have irriated him so bad that it caused this mornings episode?. he is fine now. he does the honking, raspiness when he gets excited and plays. I dont smoke in my house and we have an ac that filters the air as well. what are some other things i can do to help his lil throat out. thanks for reading:) |
poor baby Gosh I dont know....I bet you were scared to death tho....DId you pick him up and rub his throat? Thats what I have to do for Bella. I have never heard of it happening in sleep tho. Bella does it when she gets excited. Ihope your baby is fine and someone can give you some good advice and ease your mind! Please keep us posted! |
Poor baby I would have been so scared. I am glad that's all it was and he will be fine. Buddy has done something similar but not for that long only a minute or two at the most. Seems to happen when he gets overly excited. Here's hoping it dosen't happen as severe again. |
