Something isn't right... Bella is panting excessively...and seeming like she is EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I have no AC in my house so it is pretty hot. But it seems like she is really hot...uncomfy, and barking at me like she wants something but wont show me when I walk to follow her. I don't know what to do?? I feel so bad. ANY HELP??? |
:( :( Bella has heat exhaustion; We called the ER vet and they urged us to bring her in immediately..I am writing while my boyfriend puts on his clothes to go I am soooo scared. They said FULL blast the AC till we get there which is 45 minutes away and keep her still. I hope she is okay! PLEASE pray for us! |
I hope that Bella is going to be ok....poor thing...I hate this heat!! Dawn |

Thinking of Bella and hope she is cooling down. |
I sure hope Bella's OK....will be praying for her. Please keep us posted. |
Oh no! I hope Bella will be okay. We haven't put our AC on yet but what I do is spray Teddy with water every couple minutes when I sense he's really hot and I always have cold water out for him to drink. Keep a water bottle around to spray her when she's hot  I hope she is ok though |
I agree cold water to dring and keep her damp.....cooling the body. GET AC if you can! |
Oh my! I hope Bella will be alright> Sending healing thoughts your way! Any update??? |
I was gonna suggest the water bottle too. It is awfully hot here in NY right now. We have a window ac and it's 7:15 am and already 73 in my house with the ac on all nite. I'm worried about my dogs but more so the collie and tomorrow as we are going to a yankees game all day. |
Home from the vet.. We are home from the vet; what a night it has been. All day yesterday Bella was walking around and laying in strange places...seeming as if she was very uncomfy. I was worried most of the day but figured; if I am hot then she probably is as well. Well around 8 last night she started panting excessively and drolling. Her eyes were crazy huge; and she was wimpering. So I became even more worried. I kept putting her in the sink and spraying her with the mister till she was damp. But nothing was helping..ice cubes, water frozen yogurt...she was still acting strange. So I called the vet and they urged us to bring her in. They said because she is so tiny she can't handle the heat well; and that I need to get AC or sit in my car with her on days that it is this hot..I opt for AC because it's crazy to sit in my car. So Thank you all for your support and prayers..and Bella says :animal36 "kisses" |
I hope she'll be okay, prayers headed out right now!!!! |
Poor little Bella. When it gets so hot for people we have to find ways to cool down, imagine what it's like for pups that don't sweat and can't do anything about it. I never knew they could get heat exhaustion. I'm glad you found out what was wrong and what to watch for. Sure hope Bella is feeling better today. Maybe a fan she can lay in front of would help. |
Glad Bella is ok! |
I'm glad Bella is okay. Yeah getting AC is the way to go, and you'll be appreciating it this summer too! I also do a summer puppy haircut on both my dogs. Tiger went in this past Thurs., and Rhapsody is going in on the 14th. This helps keep them cooler also, and their hair grows out pretty quickly. :) |
