Vomiting Often My Yorkie has been vomiting off and on now this past week. It started on Sat, Sun, and then today. He vomits a yellow substance and then seems to be fine because he eats normally and doesn't vomit any more for the day. Has this ever happened to anyone? If so what causes it? |
Sounds like it might just be stomach bile. Happens when their tummies are empty too long. How often are you feeding? These guys ideally eat twice a day and the puppies even more. |

I think he needs to see a vet. That much vomitng isnt good even if its just bile |
Yeah, could be an infection. |

ours did that too just last weekend. we ended up taking her to the er vet because she had thrown up 5 times in 19 hours or so. most of the time it was how you described yours er vet just catastrophized the situation. they checked her vitals and said she wasn't dehydrated. we took her home and made her fast for a few hours (to slow down her system) and then we started back on feeding with baby oatmeal and jarred baby food (she loved the lamb and gravy!). she's been doing well since then. if you're concerned at all, it's worth it to take her to the vet just to check i've heard of people giving their dogs pedialyte to help with dehydration if they've had an upset stomach. good luck and please update us! :animal36 |

He's been fine this weekend, no vomiting. I will continue to monitor him this week. If he vomits again then I will call the vet and see what he says. |
Treats What treats are you giving? Stay away from high protein and high fat treats like pupperoni as can lead to pancreatitis which is deadly and very costly if they get a severe case. My vet is against giving treats and after pancreatitis and now because of it inflammatory bowel disease they get their dog food for treats. |
