I does seem kinda odd that the vet would take your dog out of the room to check. Mine checked her knees right in front of me. Yes, she does have a slight case, but my vet said that as long as she is running and jumping, she should be fine. I wonder why your vet took her out of the room? |
My vet takes them out of the room for blood draw, nail clip, etc. I asked them why and she said because if the dog can see you, he will struggle to get to you. Also, while doing his exam she asked if I would step back from the table so he wouldn't try to get to me. She said if he has something internal going on he may not respond to pain the same if he was looking at me while she's palpating him. Now, after reading these posts I'm thinkin maybe I shouldn't let them take him out. |
Thanks all for the good advice. Sometimes I am a little wishy washy in those situations but bottom line is that I need to feel 100% comfortable with my babies vet so I am going to find another one I am more comfortable with. Thanks for the push in the right direction!!! :) |
vet check I don't think it's a big deal that the vet examined him in another room. But I do think you are making too much out of the news. Puppies have a lot of things that just naturally work themselves out. Yorkies do have an issue with knees, but if you are careful and don't put them in high places, it's probably not going to bother anything. Give him some time. Feed a quality diet and wait to see. I met someone recently that asked why my yorkie's teeth were so good. She said most yorkies lose all their teeth. I think a lot of misconceptions are out there. and also, tracheal problems are more associated with older yorkies, so just because he doesn't have it now, does not mean he won't and it is also directly related to obesity. We all have to remember that it takes a small amount to feed a 4-7 lb baby! |
