Vet already?? I got my new yorkie Logan this Monday. I noticed yesterday he was coughing a little and today sneezing (snot was coming out of his nose). So, I called the vet and took him in. He has a bit of an upper respitory infection and the vet gave us an antibiotic. Being that I just got him on Monday should I let the people know where I got him? I paid $1800 for him and he's already sick? I don't want to be irritating to them but I'm a little annoyed... Lisa |
I would probably talk to the breeder and see if they are willing to cover vet costs. If they are responsible breeders, they will appreciate the call and offer to cover the vet costs. If not, then you definitely want to let other buyers know to stay away from that particular breeder. What does everyone else think? |
yes i believe they should at least cover some of it did he say if it was kennel cough? |
Did you get a contract and did is specify whether they would be responsile for any vet visits after you get the puppy. Usually a contract will tell you that you have a certain amount of time (48 hours) to take them to the vet and if they find something on the initial visit, then I would think she would pay for at least some of it. Wouldn't hurt to ask, all they can say is no. |
A reputable breeder would want to know the pup had kennel cough. Personally, I would contact the breeder and tell them the cost involved. When I bought Sophie, one of the questions I had was if she were to be sick, etc. The breeder, well known in Washington, said if there was a problem, she would take her back. Thank goodness that was never the case, but the integrity of Martell was superior. |
I would say yes let the breeder know, it might help to have the vets note to prove what was wrong, and if it was something your baby came home with, they should cover part if not all the expense. Not for a well puppy physical/check, but your baby was sick and it probably had it before you got it... |
