need your thoughts asap please So most of you have read my posts about Gemma. They just told me that when they took her out at 5 her glucose was at 82 from 307 at 1pm AND she is on a dextrose drip! So, not good. Also she would not eat :( I'm still going to go see her and they will check her glucose again at 9 and they said I can bring food for her to eat....any ideas what is best to bring? I have almost everything you can suggest at this point, after shopping for her earlier! Chicken, ground chicken, pumpkin, liverwurst, yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, baby hotdogs....hell I'm bringin a grocery bag full! With these kind of reports though, maybe it is better I keep her there overnight?? Man, that is so hard though! She so wants to be with me! |
I would keep here there. The vet tecks will help her and it sounds like she is in good hands. |

Our thoughts are will you please keep us updated. And Babybear sends Yorkie kisses to her and to you. |
Oh gosh, I'm praying for little Gemma...She will be very happy to see you :) |
Aw, poor little thing. I agree though. She should stay there where they can keep an eye on her a little longer. Just give her lost of lovin when you visit. I hope she recovers and can have a good life. |
I would leave her there, just to be safe. I know it's hard to leave her. I will keep her in my prayers and hope she is feeling better soon! |
Thanks again everyone... Geez...every time I read your kind words I get a lump in my throat! You should have seen me blubbering at the vets office. I kinda feel stupid, but I dearly love my girls and this breaks my heart! And after a night of no sleep, my emotions are high! We will more than likely keep her there tonight :( |
Ahhhhh....poor little sweetie and poor you! I'll say a prayer for her! It sounds as if it would be best to leave here there for the night, since her glucose is still fluctuating. Hopefully she'll be able to sleep tonight and wake up in the morn feeling fine! How old is she? I hope you can get some rest tonight also! Know she's in good hands and everything will look better when you've both had some rest! Hugs to you! Let us know how she's doing! |

She is just 4.5 months old! And 2 lbs... You are right...I REALLY need a good nights sleep tonight! So I will update in the morning-doc gets in at 9am :D Thanks again!! Trina |
Good thoughts coming your way from the other side of the USA. |
We are praying that your little precious girl is going to be fine. I am glad you left her there overnight, that is always the best thing when they are in this situation. I know how you must have felt to leave her there tho as when my boo-boo had his surgery a couple of weeks ago we had to leave him there for a week. So, I went through what you are going through and I know how bad it feels. I am hoping your little girl is going to be fine and home with you soon. Take care of yourself and keep us updated. PS: Boo-Boo sends kisses and licks to all of you. |
Still praying for Gemma! Sounds like she's gonna be fine:) |

If all went well last night, I will be able to go pick her up within the hour! I'm waiting for the dr to get in and have a look at her first... I can't imagine leaving her there for a week!!! You poor thing!! I was almost in tears last night seeing all the sick animals there!! Though I would love to help, I would have an emotional break down if I had that kind of job!! I will post in a while with an update! Thank you! |
