Dental surgery I need help. My I told at the Vet that my 21-month-old yorkie never lost his baby teeth form the back on both sides of his mouth. He needs to go under surgery and I’m so scare. Has anyone gone through this with your baby? He is my little boy and I don’t want to loose him. Is this surgery save? How long would it take for him to recover? How will he be after? I don’t trust my vet to perform this surgery, does anyone knows a great vet in NYC, Queens, Long Island? I don’t care about the cost. I just want to make sure my little on will be fine. Thanks you so much for all your help. |
My Boyz~ Have double canines and the vet said he will pull them when they are in surgery for neutering...I am not fond of them going under, but it needs to be done...I am in WI sorry I can't help you out w/ a vet, good luck! |
Is this surgery save? Yes , this surgery is safe . Just ask for Isoflurane . How long would it take for him to recover? 1 or 2 days depending on your little one . Jada had 6 teeth removed and the day after , she was eating her regular food . How will he be after? Relieved because he will not have toothache anymore . |
What's Isoflurance? I believe he will have stiches right? Do I have to hand feed him? I'm so worried that I'm going to take time off work to take care of him. Do the doctor removes all the teeth at once? |

He will not have stiches . Handfeeding will be done only if you wish , I never had to handfed Jada . Yes , he will remove all the teeth at once . |
Do you know how much is this going to cost? How long is the surgery? Do you know of a website where I can find a good vet to do this? Thank you for all your help!!! |
I had bella's teeth pulled when she was under for spay. She was VERY disoriented and sad after. GROGGY. Just set aside the evening to hold him and comfort him. She did not like being ll druggy a lot of whining...not out of pain, out of wanting back in control. It definately has to be done. Baby teeth can cause infection and permanent damage to adult teeth! It is a safe procedure though and has to be done. Good lick and take care! |
My Chanel never needed any teeth pulled but Cheri had 4 done when she was spayed....it's pretty common in small breeds to have double teeth....everyone gave you good advise already but I just want to say good luck !! IF you don't trust your vet then it sounds like a good time to find one you're comfortable with and take notes with you so you can ask questions Cheri was eating pretty much that same night but I only let her have a tiny bit of food after being put under...I didn't want her getting sick |
Thank you all for your kind advised. I found a very good vet and I'm taking baby Dylan tomorrow morning. He will have 4 teeth extracted. I will keep you post-it. Thanks again. Dylan's mom |
Hi Everyone - I just wanted to let you all know that Dylan is doing better. He still a little out of it, but I noticed that when I give him "pet tinic torbugesic" pain medication. He acts really weird. Does anyone have information on this medication? His also taking Clindamycin. It's so difficult to give him his medication. He even tried to bite me. But I'm happy his ok. |
