Again!!! Feel so bad for Armani.. greasy, diarrhea came back.. took him to vet and they said his giardia is not completely gone.. so we are back on 10 days of more meds!!!! Ehh... stupid giardia I wish it was it would go away. !!!! Pray for him :( |
Aww, I'm sorry, I feel your pain:( It took 3 rounds of meds to clear it up in my two! I thought we'd never get rid of it and I was so sick of them being sick and me having to constantly clean everything in Clorox. A couple weeks ago they had soft stools on the verge of being watery and I panicked and took their poop in to be checked. Thank God it was clear. I think the vet asst. thought I was nuts but once you've been through a nasty bout of that you don't want to go through it again! Good luck, hopefully this round of meds will work for you:) |
Well, now I'm a bit worried as well. We just got done w/ treating Giardia about 1.5 weeks ago. The last few days, Marcel's poops have been getting softer and softer and now I'm wondering if it's BACK! Does it seriously recur that easily? |
Thanks!! :) what meds were yours on? |
Wow, I did not realize it was so hard to treat. Autumn had Giardia and after her 10 days on the meds she was cleared and good to go. I wish your babies could have the same luck because it is really annoying.:aimeeyork |
Unfortunately it does :( and it sucks I feel so bad for him. He has not ate the last few days.. however I guess this morning my dad did get him to eat. I am gonna switch him over to wellness as well.. :) hopefully it wont irritate his stomache too much. what meds was he on? |
Marcel was on Panacur - how 'bout you? |

same with the one that starts with m.. eh cant remember it now.. but now we are back on panacur for another ten days. |
That was it - Panacur and Metro-something! Oh, what also helped was I switched over to homecooking - rice/boiled chicken/veggies. |
i think i might too Quote:
switch over that is.. what do you cook exactly? |

As for the homecooking, I started off very bland - white & brown rice (I use a rice cooker), boiled chicken (no seasonings, chopped up small), and green beans, carrots & peas (ground up). Oh, and yogurt every day. Later I started using different veggies, adding cottage cheese to their yogurt, switching out the chicken with ground turkey, adding egg, sardines w/ bones, liver, etc. and giving them fruit (fresh/dried) and veggies as snacks. I picked up a food processor and it makes preparing their meals so much easier. I also give them a good vitamin/mineral supplement, digestive enzymes and omega 3 & 6. I buy most of it online from onlynaturalpet.com. Hope that helps! |
And Another Thing AND WHAT SCARED ME THE MOST.. the vet said if this round does not clear up the giardia or diarhhea she wants to take more samples and blood samples and see if there is anything else going on :( eh i was so upset.. I just want him to be healthy.. and he looks completely healthy until he poops :( |

Ya I do clean after him.. he poops inside on poop pads.. which I pick up right away so he cannot get to it.. he is not a poop eater anyhow.. but I mean i washed all of his stuff.. cleaned everywhere but who knows with these little ones.. they are constantly everywhere, I am limiting his space so he can deposit any secret piles that I am not aware of |
