Update on Brodie Brodie is thru surgery and is currently here with me at work. My heart is just breaking though. My poor baby is crying :( I feel SOOOOO bad for him :( His poor little cries and whimpers are just so heartbreaking. My baby is in pain. They had me pick him up at 12:15pm and I dropped him off this morning at 8:15am, so I know he's going to be soar, but I wish there was something I could do for him! He just lays in my lap, and cries :( Thank god the procedure went well though :) I was going to take him home, but I think its better he stays here with me so I can keep an eye on him. I just hate seeing my baby in pain and so sad :( This is the 1st time I've heared him cry like this!!! Thanks everyone for all your prayers!!! I just am a worry wart when it come to my babies!!!! |
We are so glad Brody is out of surgery and with you. Sometimes they just want their mommies. He might not be fully awake from the anesthesia and wimpering because he isn't sure what happened to him..... Give him a big hug from me and the girls and if his wimpering continues, please call the vet and ask for pain meds for the day. |
Poor little guy! I would get some pain meds for him |
That's SO sad to read and sending him gentle get well wishes....Did they give him anything for pain ? some vets will give you a prescription and some will say baby asprin may help ....I'd call and see if they can do something for him poor little guy.... |
So happy to hear Brodie is in your arms again, feel better real soon!!! |
Called the Vet....they are going to call me back cuz he was on the phone. My baby is uncomfortable :( He's looking at me like he's blaming me too :( |
Poor Brodie! Winston had 6 baby teeth taken out when he was 6 months, it killed me because he was in so much pain. Baby Aspirin will help. This will pass, he'll feel better tomorrow. Winston and Maggie sends hugs. |
My vet is calling in a prescription of Tramadol to Walgreens. Has anyone used this before??? they said normally they don't send meds home for tooth extractions but would call this in for him. |
I used tramadol with my maltese after his knee surgery. It worked well and didn't seem to make him too "dopey". Hugs to your precious little one.... |
Misha used it when she had some teeth extracted. Worked great. |
OH No!!! poor Brodie! this is the first I'm reading of this! I'm glad everything went well!! He'll be back to normal in no time;) |
I know how you feel. When Daisy got spayes she also got teeth extracted and I felt like a POS putting her through that :( but the next day she wasnt crying anymore and I dont remember having any pain meds for her. He's a trooper!! Keep us updated. Jersey says Get Well Daddy :getwellso |

I'm so glad he's feeling better. I always use the pain meds a couple days after they aren't showing obvious signs of pain, bc they're probably still in some pain. |
:daisy: :daisy: :daisy:  :daisy: :daisy: :daisy: Here's some flowers and balloons for Brodie :icecream: :martini: :icecream: & some comfort food for mommy. |
I am glad he is feeling better. Can I ask what strength of tramadol he prescribed. I had no idea that you could give that to dogs. That is Ultram and it is prescribed alot for pain in ER where I work (people ususally wad it up and throw it in my face because it is not a narcotic), but it is nice to know that I can have easy access to it if Hannah or Bentley is ever in pain. Please let me know what the dosage is and how much your baby weighs. |

Anyway, I'm happy to hear Brodie is doing better, and now mommy can relax!!! |
Tramadol Hi! Yes he was presrcibed Tramadol. It is Tramadol 50MG Tablets. Give Brodie 1/2 tablet by mouth 3 times daily for 3-5 days. They told me that I could come pick some up at the Vets or they could call it in for me. I asked them to call it in as Walgreens is right accross from my work :) Yes it was made out in Brodies name. When I called to see if it was ready, I used my name and they said they had no one with that name! I said Brodie and yup! had something for him! So I couldn't use my insurance though....see they got me there! So I can take this medice too right? What about for cramps? headaches? |
I see Brodie looks like he feels better in the pics! But, in the first one, he is saying, "Mommy, let's NOT do that again!" He is so adorable!! Glas he is feeling more like his old self! |
Did you try to call the vet? My Sparky went thru a pain full surgery and my vet told me I could give him 1/4 of Children's asprin. It helped. But please check w/ your vet first. I'm sorry for your baby. |
