I don't know how I didn't see this! I am so sorry that Mickey is going through all this, but thankful his surgery was successful and he's at home with his Mom! I am praying for a quick recovery and good health from now on for this little guy! Thanks so much for the updates. :) |
well I thought he would of peed by now, hes still straining and no pee, I cant get him to eat any thing either. I took a syringe and gave him water and a little pedylite and I got all his meds down him , I also gave him nutrical. The vet said give him any thing to eat , just get some thing in him for today. well I cut up some steak and hamburgar and still nothing, he holds his teeth very tight together. |
awww...poor baby. keep up with the water and nutrical.....then maybe every hour or so try the food again. I'm sure once he's feeling a bit better he'll eat. hugs to you both.... |

Gosh, I hope he starts eating soon even if it's just a little bit. Maybe he will eat if you add a little egg or chicken to his food...Or maybe a little low-fat or non-fat yogurt or cottage cheese. |

More prayers for Mickey I couldn't wait to get home from work, to see how Mickey was doing today, I've been so concerned...any improvement in his peeing, have you been able to get him to eat anything? Please let it be YES, I'm hoping and praying that he will recover and soon. I know you probably have your hands full taking care of him, but wanted you to know we're still thinking of you and him. well today Mickeys eyes look brighter, his incision looks clean. But I cant get him to eat, and with all the meds hes taking he needs to eat. he threw up every thing he ate yesterday and was throwing up during the night.I have offered him every thing I can think of, he refuses to eat and then I have no choice but to get his meds down him and on an empty tummy, and I hate that. Im going to call the vet and ask him what to do, we might have to put him on IV's .He looks so weak and I think most of it is because hes not eating, I keep giving him the nutrical, hes startting to get the shakes on and off.and im back to syringing water in him. I think if he eats he would feel 90% better. I dont know if its the meds thats making him sick, or maybe taking them on an empty tummy is causing it or what. yesterday he had food on his tummy and he still threw up food and his meds. the only other thing I have that I know he loves is vanilla icecream. But I dont know if I should give him a little of that or what. hes got to eat something. |
Well I talked to the vet. I have to in and pick him up some meds for upset tummys and some other king of food that I will have to syringe into him, he said at this point go ahead and try some icecream, any thing to get him to eat. and if this dosent work he'll have to put him on IV's hes already on an acid med that breaks up the acid in his tummy but hes still throwing up.even water now. |
aww...that poor guy! Here's hoping the new meds help out his tummy and he can keep some food down. HUGE HUGS TO YOU BOTH!!! |
