Omgg Pleasee Help Mee! OMG. I dont know what to do! I was cleaning the floor and my yorkie was drinking water with lysol and bleach. I kinda rinsed it out but his breath smells like clorox! also, a small can fell on his paw yesterday. He limped for a little but then started walking on it. Now he's limping again. Oh myy godd. What should I do? |
Please call Poison Control right away. I have the # of KSU at 785-532-5679 or the Penn Vet School ER 215-746-8911. They will tell you what you need to do immediately, but you'll probably also end up going to an ER vet tonight. I do know that you DO NOT induce vomiting when ingesting bleach. Please call right away even if they charge you.........let us know. Praying for you and your baby... |
okay. thank you very much. i am calling right now. |
I hope he's okay. Keep us posted. You both are in our thoughts. |
oh my gosh, I am so scared for you!! Please let us know what happens. How much did your yorkie drink? How much does she weigh? |
Oh no!! Please update when you get time. |
Oh please keep us posted!!!! Praying everything is ok !!!!!! |
I'm praying for your baby, please be okay...What did poison control say, please post when you can, take care of your baby. |
well. i called my vet and thank god they do emergencies. they told me to give him 3 tablespoons of peroxide. he threw it all up. i hope that works. now, about his paw. i have NOO idea what to do. |
Call poison control center of America: 1-800-222-1222. |
I'd go to the vet NOW.......if his breath smells like clorox you need to get him in where they can monitor him ....These guys are very small and that can be deadly.....they can take a look at his foot while he's there too but I wouldn't mess around with this.....there's emergency vets open 24 hours if your regular vet isn't open |

I wouldn't worry about his paw till morning. Sometimes they will be sorer some days..... |
I wish I could take him NOW. But the problem is that my mom dosen`t want to. It`s a money issue. Arghh. I really don`t wanna lose him. |
was it regular bleach...my son drink some once, and i know there is a size difference, but posion control side reg bleach wont hurt, but that i could give him some milk ( i think they said give him milk) |
my mom is being stubborn. thinking she knows about dogs. she`s not gonna take him until it gets deadly. i know her. |
In Germany, where my son was born, they had a disinfecting system for the baby bottles that smelled exactly like clorox bleach. In fact, it was a mixture of bleach and water, and you soaked the bottles in it and then filled the bottles with formula without rinsing the disinfecting liquid off the bottles. I fed my son with these bottles all through his baby-hood. It didn't hurt him a bit. So my guess is that the bleach mixed with water won't hurt your pup. You should consider getting insurance for your pup. It's not that expensive for the standard plan: around $12 a month. You could easily afford it. And that way your mom won't feel like she's going to be paying the whole bill every time something happens. They usually reimburse around 40% to 50% of the bill. We have VIP insurance for our dog and cat. |
i also have VPI and i pay like 22 dollars a month and it supposed to cover 90% i think you should call a poison control number and ask their opinion! i will be praying for your baby!! |
This is what I found on a first aid site regarding ingesting.... Ingested Poisons An ingested poison is one that is introduced into the digestive tract by way of mouth. Clues To A Poisoning: Overturned or empty pill box Scattered pills Chemical containers Household cleaners Empty alcohol bottles Over turned plants Presentation: ]History of ingesting poisons Burns around the mouth Odd breath odors Nausea, vomiting Saliva or foaming at the mouth Abdominal pain Diarrhea Altered mental status Unresponsive Emergency Care: Call for medical help! Your top priority is the victim's airway. Check the victim's ABCs, proceed accordingly; DRABC of resuscitation in adults OR DRABC of resuscitation in babies and young children Give first aid for seizures. You may be instructed to give activated charcoal till medical help arrives. This is a finely ground charcoal that is very absorbent. It binds with the poisons in the stomach and then passes through the body harmlessly. It may be effective in reducing poisons for up to four hours after ingestion. Most activated charcoal is mixed with water. If it is dry, then you must mix two tablespoons of it in a glass of water. Never Induce Vomiting If The Victim: Is unresponsive, Cannot maintain an airway, Has ingested an acid, a corrosive, or a petroleum product, Has a medical condition that could be complicated by vomiting, such as heart attack, seizures, and pregnancy Obviously the amount of charcoal to give would be much less for a little pup - but I would at least do that if you know he drank some of it. This same stuff applies to both children and adults as well as pets. Hope this helps. |
Sorry I have to say this.. Sorry but I have to say this; WHY do people get animals when the $$ becomes an issue when they need vet care. Pets do not vet themselves, groom themselves or feed themselves. Makes no sense. I hope this little one is alright. Elaine. |
Your original post also said that Lysol was mixed in with the water and bleach. Lysol is considered a toxic cleaning substance. Check the label and see what the active ingredient it. This is also important information to give if you call poison control. Make sure you also tell them the weight of your pup. Most people don't understand just how small and fragile our babies can be and they can go down quickly. These are not like other dogs - particularly larger breeds. |
Was he drinking water out of a bicket or a little left on the floor? I would take him to the vet it would be cheaper to prevent his death then to lose him and buy another one, Can you pay your Mom back for the visit. I hope he will be ok. |
Alright guys. I`m happy to announce that Gucci is better than ever! The people at my vet helped me and told me to bring him in for his paw tommorow. It`s nor broken but his fingers is where it hurts. I`ll take him tommorow. They said it can`t be more than 100 dollars so my mom agreed. Thanks for all your help guys! <3333 |
