Cayo's tooth I am new to this and I came here to get advice/help, my Cayo is almost 8 months old and today while playing with a stuffed animal one of his teeth fell out! Is this normal? Should I be worried? |
:wavey: And, welcome to YT  Loosing teeth is perfectly normal. It has been my experience that these little guys start loosing their baby teeth at or near 5-6 months. And, continue for several months thereafter. |
Thanks!! I thought something was wrong. I feel better now that I know it is to be expected:) . |
Sounds like a baby tooth came out. That's a good thing as they tend to retain them sometimes. |
Everyone here is so nice! Thank you all :) |
retaining baby teeth My yorkie is now 9 months and he still have one of his k-9's. It won't fall out! Should I take him to the dentist to get it pulled out? |
:wavey: And, welcome to YT  Some teeth can take up to a year or more to fall out by themselves. Most Veterinarians will pull retained teeth at the time of a spay or neuter. And, if you're not planning on neutering him, I'd discuss the extraction with your Veterinarian when your little guy is scheduled for his annual exam if it hasn't fallen out on its own. Until then, you can work on it yourself and just maybe save the extraction expense. Wiggle it, play tug of war with his favorite toy, etc. |
Welcome to YT..........you will get so much info here, it is wonderful. |
Yeah, Cali just lost like a bridge of teeth playing with a toy the other day. I picked up like three teeth attached to a small piece of gum (from her mouth, not chewing gum btw). It was gross. But that is actually the first time I've noticed any teeth coming out. She will be 7 months next week. |
I also was upset the first time I saw Duke loss a tooth. I had always had larger dogs and never know when they lost them. (they were mostly outside). Glad to know I wasn't the only one that didn't know they lost them just like our skin kids do. :) |
