Gabby needs prayers! I took Gabby to the vet this afternoon due to a sore on the side of her outer lip that she's been scratching for a couple days and it had gotten worse. In order to properly examine her since it was around her mouth area, he had to give her just enough gas to relax her without knocking her out. What he found has devastated me:( She has two tumors in her mouth, one a bit larger than the other (the side she's scratching on). He says there is a 10% chance that the tumors are hyperplasia (non-malignant), maybe higher. Surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday for him to remove the tumors which he will send to a vet pathologist in Jackson. It will be Friday before we know if she in fact has cancer or if it's just nothing to worry about. He said that if it turns out to be cancer, there's not a lot of chemo's or treatments for oral cancer but he'll discuss that more once he knows more from the test results. I'm just so upset right now and know that I'm going to be a nervous wreck between now and surgery, then from surgery til we get results back. He said to treat her as normal as far as diet and treats go, not to change to any soft food. The only thing different is I'm loving on her more and hugging her more. If you can, could you all please remember Gabby in your prayers? I would appreciate it! I won't be able to post anything after her surgery until I get home that evening as firewalls prevent me from even pulling this site up while at work. I had some emails for a few of you but I changed jobs and lost them all so I can't even email for someone else to update. But just knowing you're thinking of her will be enough to get me through until I can get here to update you all. You are a great group and I believe in the power of prayers. Thanks, Suzi |
OMG! I am so sorry. I am sending you lots of prayers and well wishes. :aimeeyork |
That is so scary. The waiting is the hardest. I will keep you and your little munchkin in my prayers. |
Thank you both so much! Yes, it is going to be hard waiting until Tuesday and then the long wait for the results. Your prayers will help get us through this. |
I am so sorry to hear. I will pray for benign results and a successful surgery. How old is Gabby? |

I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through. My ex mother in-law's cat has cancer and her vet couldn't help her, but she found a homeopathic vet in Brandon, Mississippi. She is also in Forest, Mississippi. (She's Chloe's routine vet). She is using something called blood root on the cat's tumor and it is really working MIL says...so there are lots of options for treatment that you and your vet may not even be aware of...I'll keep you guys in my prayers. |
We will be thinking about you Gabby.......Good Luck!!!!! |
You and Gabby are in my prayers! |

Gabby we are sending powerful prayers your way!! |
Thank you all - tomorrow is THE day! I will be on pins and needles waiting to hear the surgery goes okay and then be a total nervous wreck until I hear results of pathology reports, which won't be until Friday. Since I can't access the site at work, I won't be able to post an update until tomorrow night and then the week-end on the results. Please keep the prayers coming! |
Winston and I are sending some powerful prayers your way...We hope and pray for the best, for Gabby, you and your family. I know the waiting and not knowing is difficult, so be strong and keep believing that things will all be okay. Hugs to you and Gabby!!! |
