Help for Toby!! Hi. I was wondering if anyone has any idea what could be going on with Toby. Yesterday afternoon, he keep on going to the door to be let outside. When outside it looked as though he was trying to poop but couldn't. This went on for several hours. He began to vomit after about 2 hours of straining. He has not eaten anything since yesterday. I am giving him water from my hand as he turns his nose up to the water in his bowl. Each time he strains he dribbles pee. In fact when I let him out this morning all he did was a few drops instead of his usual morning pee. I thought this was a case of constipation, now I am not so sure. I think I will have to call the er vet being Easter Sunday and all. I can't stand to see him in distress. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. |

The only thing that I would suggest is what you have decided, takin him to ER. I don't think it is constipation....since the problem seems to be not only with his bowels.... |
Please get him to the vet...even if it is Easter. |
I just want to say I hope he feels better and he does need to eat - have you tried a little chicken ? I agree with everyone - if he's not eating or drinking he needs to be checked out by a vet...Good luck !! |
I agree. Get him checked! Good luck, and let us know what you find out! |
Toby's possible diagnosis Just got back from the vets. They took a urinalysis, blood work, exray. His blood work was perfect, however his urine showed signed of blood with sediments in it. The exray was really inclusive as this point,as Toby eats alot of bird seed so she wasn't sure if that was showing up in his colon or bladder. There is definitely no blockage in colon or uretha so that is a relief. She has prescribed him with antiboitics for a bladder infection even though she thinks that male dogs rarely get these. Hopefully, that is all that is wrong. We will be following up with our regular vet. Wish us luck and hopefully that a bladder infection is all that is going on. Thanks for the well wishes. One relieved mom |
