What is wrong with my Yorkie? -video link Wilson has always had the reverse sneeze/ post nasal drip kind of cough but this new cough started a couple of days ago and it's just horrible. He has seasonal allergies at this time of year - but never like this. We are going to the vet on Wednesday, but maybe others have had same experience - any ideas? any natural remedies? ( I try to avoid the steriod shots etc). Could this be a collapsing trachea? Kennel cough? Just really worried about him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEYqbEGpJgg |
Oh poor baby :( I don't know what that could be but I'm glad you have a vet appt. Please keep us updated and I think it's great that you have a video of it. If anyone else has experience that will really help out. He sure is adorable~ |
more video I actually posted a few videos - the cough goes on and off all day - even whe he is sitting still. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Wonka1970 |
I don't think that's reverse sneezing. It sounds like either kennel cough or collapsed trachea. Well wishes to your baby!!! Please keep us updated. |
reese had kennel cough when i first got her and it sounded a lot like that..i know it is very contagious among dogs...they can pick it up almost anywhere if another one has it...def. get it checked out. hers turned to pneumonia!!! |
I'm not sure but I thought a collapsed trachea, he would be throwing up. Has he done this for a long time?? Maybe just has a tickle or something. I'm sure it will go away. Keep us posted! |
Sounds like a cough to me. Willson might need to get a checkup :) Sending get well hugs :ghug: |
IMPORTANT!!!!!! I thought Rio had innocent "backward/reverse sneezing" which can be normal for some dogs to do...but she has tonsilitis!!! And is on anti-biotics. Although Rio was doing the reverse sneezing...it was because her throat was irritated. So make sure your vet opens your pups mouth and looks down it's throat to see if it's inflammed!!!! This could lead to pseumonia (sp?) which is way more serious that tonsilitis!! |
