Lilo ate chocolate last night!!! She is just so quick!!! Last night around midninght I just step out for a minute, and she got hold to piece of chocolate that was laying on the table!!! What's worst, it was chocolate filled with mocca coffe creme!!! I started paniking as soon as I saw her eating it, but I did got hold to 1/2 piece that I took away from her!!! I didn't have hydrogen paroxide on hand to make her vomit, so I tryied table salt, but this didn't help, so I drove to nearest gas station and got HP. I gave her 1 spoon of it but it didn't work, so 30 min later I gave her another spoon , but she still didn't threw up!!! She was acting normal so I decided to just check on her every hour ,as I did. She is doing great today, and never threw up anything! This is just going to teach me a lesson to be more carefull with her!!! |
OoO that is bad...i heard it was dark chocolate that is really bad for them...hope she is well... |
Oh no! Poor Lilo!! :( I am so glad everything turned out ok!! :) :) Big hugs to you sweetie!! |
Lilo will be perfectly fine. If anything was going to happen, it would have happened quickly. One of my chihuahuas who was 2lbs at the time, ate almost 1lb of Dark Chocolate as he tore threw a garbage bag that contained the remains of my anniversary cake from Cold Stone Creamery, and those are some heavy duty heartkiller cakes for us! My chi started to act very weird and hyper and ran from one end of the house to the other. We knew something wasn't right and then we saw the damaged garbage bag. We rushed him to the vet, who pumped his stomach and he spent the night with 2 IVs. He had eat half his weight in chocolate as he weighed 3 lbs when they weighed him. He was fine the next day but we weren't! You don't realize how slick these little babies are! I hope your Lilo is feeling her usual self!:animal-pa :aimeeyork |
Your lucky. It can really make them sick.Bunny had an incident last Christmas of very bad intestinal flu.I could not figure out why she was sick till I found hidden in her bed the wrappings of a Christmas chocolate bunny. One of my houseguests must of left their Christmas stocking laying around.Despite the fact that she clearly hadn't gotten over her intestinal illness she growled non-stop as I was taking it away from her.Obviously she couldn't understand the connection.I was pretty worried .Luckily she recovered within a few hours. (and it wasn't a small bunny, but it was good quality from holland)She loves to hide things.....almost like a little squirrel. :grinhat: :grinhat: :grinhat: |
Funny you mention "chocolate bunny". That became my chi's nickname at the vet's office. When I call up I say, I need an appointment for the Chocolate Bunny!" Funny now, not then. |
