Reverse Sneezing?? Ttestt |
I have a yorkie who is 6months and she sticks out her head and neck forward and starts making these weird noises as if she is choking.... I usually open her mouth or rub her gently underneath her throat to make it stop....the vet said its normal for some dogs and that theres no cure or whatever....why in the world does she do that?!! (i really think i should change vets, i dont like this one grr) also, she likes to nibble on her arm a lot and I noticed a little dry scab...the vet said they tend to find one area on the body to bite on, i dont like that! how can it stop before it gets worse....lol Okay, sorry about the first post---it didn't show up for some reason |
My Harley does both of these things that you are talking about. The chewing has gotten better because he has been treated for allergies but the reverse sneezing is still there. Tammy |
My Rosi does this too, when i had her at the vet for other reasons, he said spring is the worst as trees are starting to bloom, it could be allergies. Kind to think of it last yr she did it pretty bad, then only once in a great while.... |
Jewels does it when she gets excited |
Reverse sneezing Does it ever go away?!!!!? My puppy has had it for only 2 weeks now and it's getting worse. My vet gave him some meds, which have not helped... I think and I am getting worried. I was wondering if this is as bad as it'll get?!!!??? |
well the chewing on her arms sounds a lot like a food allergy... get her off that vet food as soon as you can.. i know the sample won't be there for a few days but go out and buy a quality canned food from the store near you that carrier the Fromms.. i bet when you change her food the itching will stop the sneezing.. does it sound like a sneeze or a honk... do you think she is trying to cough somehting up?? if that is the case it could be kennel cough... something that can be very serious.. Layla had it and is still trying to get over it.. .we are on our second round of meds.. but kennel cough can become pneumonia |
frankie did it too.:animal36 |
It's the reverse sneezing and she is just infected a bit so he gave us some antibiotics to clear up the infection/bacteria... and I told him about the corn causing her to itch and what not...he said no...sounded quite positive. Most likely a case of dustmites. He is glad she is still a wild little girl and always hungry & eating. He said hopefully this spring she'll get better... |
I found a scab on Izzy's inside back leg where he was always biting. I changed his food a week or so ago and so far I havent noticed him in that same area. But he still seems to itch. Im going to ask the vet about the reverse sneezing thing too. I think he has it. Im taking him to get neutered tomorrow so hopefully I can get some answers. |
The reverse sneezing seems to get worst...i dunno if its because of the weather change.... but she usually starts doing it when she is very excited or mad. I don't like it, it seems very uncomfortable, but the vet said it is normal and nothing much they can do about it! :thumbdown |
