Weird night Last night I woke up about an hour after falling asleep and one of my babies was acting really weird. She would get off the bed, run into the doggie tent, roll around and come back up on the bed. Then she would be rubbing her face (I think) all over the bed and she was trembling. This went on for quite a while. She would lie down to sleep but couldn't. She just kept looking around - really alert. This morning she seems ok - the trembling has stopped. Has anyone experience anything like this? It was just so strange and out of character for her. |
Has she ever had episodes of hypoglycemia? Nutrical is handy to keep for that. You could have given her some to see if the trembling stopped. Other than that I can only throw guesses out there? Perhaps she got a flea? |
Now she just threw up her breakfast... :( No, she hasn't had any health problems... |
Oh, I'm sorry. I'd be concerned and take your little one to the vet. |
She is just laying around... hiding in the dog house bed.:( I gave her some nutristat and she licked it right up but she hasn't gone pee when I took her out two times and she always goes. I guess it's time to call the vet.:( |
Well, around here, we just go. Don't make appointments. She could be a little dehydrated. Take her to the Dogtor and then you can both rest easier.:) |

We have an appointment at 4 today. They're saying it will probably run between $200-$300. Why does this kind of stuff happen at the worst times? I'm off work for another 4 weeks (without pay) cause of my surgery. Grrrrr. She threw up again - just yellow bile this time. She doesn't want any kind of treat or anything.. poor baby.:( I'll let you know what happens at the vets. |
I wish you were close enough to come to my vet. That is absolutely horrible. That's bank robbery! |
Well, we're home. She had a very high count of the bacteria clostridia in her gram stain. I guess having a little bit of that bacteria is normal but she has way too much, meaning she could have gotten into something inside or out - who knows - that caused the bacteria to multiply, making her sick. It causes vomiting and he told me she will probably have diarreah in the next day or two. No food till tomorrow and he said I could buy a can of I/D to give her, but I opted out for boiled chicken and rice. He said that would be great, too. So, she is on two antibiotics - one with an anti-inflammatory agent in it. I figured I might as well get the heartworm test out of the way and got six months worth of the meds while I was there... for a grand total of $227.75. I must say, the vet was SO nice and he answered all my questions about her illness and about vaccines. He was telling me how much stuff they can pick up at the park or in pet stores. I just smiled and told him I don't bring my dogs to the park and they are not allowed to walk on the floors in pet stores just for that reason.... :D We were in talking with him for about an hour. So, anyway - Kaya is now on my lap with her head on arm, making it very difficult to type. I think we'll be cuddling a lot tonight.:) |
