Bully Stick = Bully SICK? Has anyone noticed if the bully sticks give their baby's belly aches......Brandi doesn't seem sick.....but she doesn't seem herself.....and her stomach is continuously growling/gurgling (I'm gonna guess most of the day) but definitely since I'm home...... The only thing I've given her that's different is a bully stick on Sunday and she's been eating it everyday since then.......I hate taking it away from her she seems to love it......(I have taken it away at this point) but I don't know if it's the cause of her belly ache...... She's being very clingy and just wants to sit on my feet or lay on my lap.......I called the vet and they said if she's not better tomorrow to bring her in..... |
My dogs have gone through several with no problem - including my little 3 pounder. Hope yours is back to normal soon. |
Mine have never gotten sick from them |
Nope, Teddy has never gotten sick with them. I hope she's feeling better soon! Kim and Teddy |
There's definitely something wrong.......I just wish I knew what.....she won't walk away from me even....I was doing the dishes and she was laying on my feet........ |
Taylor will be a year old March 26th. He loves bully sticks and the only thing that I can say is that they make him thirsty. I take them away when they get small because I am afraid he might swallow a small piece. I don't know about your baby but Taylor will eat all kinds of things he shouldn't. No matter how we watch him..we have taken twist-ties out of his mouth... he has passed leaves from real outdoor foliage and artificial from indoor. It's a constant thing to supervise him. I doubt if it's the bully stick, but it could be something else your baby ate. By the way.... Yorkie's love to sit on your feet...it just could be bonding. I hope your baby feels better soon. |
There is absolutely nothing around that she could have eaten that would cause her stomach to sound like it's revolting....my son even walked in just now and said "she's gonna have diarreah all over" which she hasn't.....I'm boiling her a piece of chicken right now......maybe it will fill her belly a little......and make her feel better |
Wh:confused: at's a bully stick? I've had yorkies for 15 years , and I don't even know what it is??? |
you might wanna google it for the exact definition LOL........they're ummmm bully sticks :D |
That gurgurling is what TJ did for a long time. That was sign that something wasn't right inside him. He would then has mucus poop. This went on for a long time, we did all sorts of tests, limited diet, etc. The tests showed that he has an overgrowth of bacteria in his small intesines (Inflamitory Bowel Disease - or IBD). - You can do a 'search' here on yorkietalk for IBD and a lot of info will come up to read about. I would suggest taking away the Bully Stick and let her insides have a rest. Once some time has past and no more noises, maybe try the Bully stick again and see if it happens again. I use to give TJ some Pepto, that seemed to help a little bit (short term). I hope she feels better soon. |
Sending get well hugs to Brandi! You might want to take Brandi to the vet and have some testing done to determine the exact cuse of the problem. My seven have Bully Sticks available to them 24/7. I have never ever had a problem. Even the little puppies --at 5 & 6 weeks were chomping down on them. Maybe it is the particular brand and some thing in the processing. |
I boiled her some chicken.......I didn't make rice since she didn't have diarreah......I didn't want to first cause any problems......she ate the chicken and looked for more.......I just gave her very little though.......then she pooped and it was seemingly normal.......and she went upstairs onto my bed and is sleeping....I just checked her and something tells me I will be paying a visit to the vet tomorrow.......she just doesn't seem right......I hope it doesn't have anything to do with her spay..... |
I sincerely hope that Brandi gets to feeling better real soon. Sending hugs :ghug:. If you think thre is something wrong, there probably is. Trust your instincts. |
I'm stressed already....I hate it when she acts the least bit out of the norm for her.......I'm not quite sure I was THIS neurotic with my 2 legged children...... |
Awwww i hope she feels better really soon, keep up updated (( Hugs )) |
