Rub her firm and fast to stimulate her to breathe...I hope she is ok....:(

Do you have a terry cloth towel or wash cloth?? rub her with that and keep rubbing to stimulate her. How many times did you sling down?

Any other more experienced breeders on that can help???!!!

doing good now
slung baby about 4 sets didnt count how many times each set at least 3-4
have terry washcloths just for babies
baby was nursing
mom and baby in my lap
mom made NO noise
had 3 lost first 2
think she didnt get sacs off fast enough
sac was still on this one when found
she wasnt trying very hard to get it off

sorry for your loss of the other two...if you need some help feel free to call me at anytime 503-777-4224
hope she's doing better now, sometimes their a bit slow to start up, if she is nursing and staying latched she should be fine...

Thank you, Kimberly. He's a boy and I think I must have totally worn him out. When I finally stopped wallering him he just laid in my hand. He only cried once when we got him out of the sac, then we were working trying to save the first two. When we finally figured out there was nothing we could do to save them and saw that he wasn't doing any better, I started emergency procedures as much as I have on hand. I did get him to squeek weakly but now he seems to be doing good. I will be staying up with him tonight. Mom doesn't seem to understand what's going on. She didn't come looking for him. I had Glenn give her a bath to keep her busy while I tended the baby.

Thanks Villette. You know what a rough time I've had with puppies. Lacijo made absolutely no noise. No scratching around, no running around, no signs at all. My son came in and told me that Jewel, my smallest female, in heat and locked in my bedroom, was shaking like a leaf. I thot maybe she was cold but now I think she knew Lacijo was in the crate in the bedroom having babies. I should have checked. Sylvia

I am so happy to hear the baby has survived. I will keep this little boy in my prayers. Thanks to all the breeders who have offered advise!

Sylvia, I wouldnt be bathing mom right now...if she needs her butt washed and dried completely as well her teat area and wiped again with warm water to assure no soap or shampoo residue is on them that baby will ingest...she just finished with labor that is a lot and enough for her to go through,.....she should be eating, resting and tending to the baby not you, dont intervene unless mom is not tending to her baby.
