Prayers being said for Milo and his Lana.

I'm so sorry about little Milo. I'll be praying for both of you.

Lana is having a really tough time. Last I spoke with her she was deciding wether to start Milo on chemo or not. I haven't heard if she has made a decision yet.

Lana's DH is not as supportive as she would like him to be. He doesn't agree with Lana that treating him is the best decision. Lana is wanting to fight for Milo. I'm sure DH just wants her to be happy and it's hard for him to see her in tears all the time and he want's to do what he feels is the best for Milo too.

In case you don't know, Milo was given to Lana's care by a lady she met at a gas station. The woman saw a bumper sticker on Lana's car that said "I Love Yorkies" or something similar and the woman asked if she would give Milo a loving home since she wasn't able to. He has a very special place in Lana's heart and she is wanting to do her best for him.

I'll keep you updated on Milo's progress.

Milo Update 2/28/2007
 

Lana decided not to put Milo on that medicine (cytozar/Chemotherapy). She thought the side effects would be cruel. Milo is going for a re-check tomorrow.

Milo had good night yesterday. Lana's dogs love these dental bones called Ziggies. (Do you know about them? They are for puppies and digestible. They love them. And they are good for their teeth, espceially if you are scared with the other ones, like greenies and things.) Well, when Milo got sick, he could not eat them anymore, or didn't know how so she stopped giving them to Taz and Romeo because Milo would stare and it made her sad. BUT!!! last night, he ate one! It took him a long time but he did it! Lana is so thrilled he was able to enjoy his treat.

This is huge for Milo!

Her vet called and said Milo could possibly go blind, that's something that could happen because the infection is attacking the brain.

Taz and Milo used to sleep together and that stopped a little while ago, but not today! Lana turned around and saw they are sleeping in Milo's snuggily together. And his snuggily has a big heart with his name on it. They love each other.

Lana first realized something was wrong with Milo because he stopped going through his doggie door. He would walk up to it and just look at it like he couldn't remember what he was supposed to do. Little by little, like a person with alzheimers, she noticed he was forgetting how to do simple things like playing with his toys.

Milo has had several tests including a spinal tap and MRI in addition to several blood tests. Milo is the 4th Yorkie that I know of on Yorkie Talk to be diagnosed with this horrible disease. Besides my Jewel, Milo is the only other Yorkie I know of that has chosen to go to battle.

Go MILO! We are Rooting for YOU! Show all your doctors that Yorkies are Fighters!
