| baileysmom31 | 02-23-2007 12:46 PM | Tia's Leg again! I don't know if I am frustrated, mad, concerned or what. As some of you may know, just before Christmas, Tia had leg surgery. I had to transport her to the city (about 400 miles away) to an orthopedic surgeon. Well all went fine, the cast was taken off up here. I did notice, however, Tia still wasn't using her leg all the time. I was reassured this was normal and she should be fine in ca couple of weeks. About 3 weeks later I took her back to the surgeon in Winnipeg for xrays ( this was about 3 weeks ago). The surgeon who preformed the surgery wasn't there that day but another vet took the xray and said it looked good but if there was a problem she would have him call me. Well I got the call the next week and the surgeon said he spotted something "strange" on the xray. He compared the pre-op xray with the one just taken and he said the surgery site is healing nicely but there is a "problem" just above the site. He asked how she broke it and I told him by jumping off the couch. He kinda mumbled that "that would make sense" I asked him if he thought she had injured it again and he said no. He asked how soon could I get her down. Because it cost $700.00 to fly down (Crazy  ) I try to go only when I have business and someone else is paying for it. I told him I had a trip planned for mid-March. He said he wanted her on Metacam for a couple of weeks and see if it helped. Well, I called him yesterday and said there wasn't any change and he said he needs to see her ASAP. The earliest I can get down will be March 14th. I asked him again what he suspects but he said he really wants to see her first before saying anything  I am so scared this might be something serious. I don't want to make more of this then there may be... but if anyone has had the same type of situation, maybe you could shed some light on this for me. Also to my YT friends, just keep us in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks. I'll do another posting once we get the results. |
