constipation!!!! i have had dogs with diarreha before but now I have one with constipation. Do you guys know of anything I can give him. he is only twelve weeks old. Thanks |
I have heard canned pumpkin can take care of that. From what I hear, they seem to like it a lot too. |
put some vaseline on your finger they will lick it off, they actually like it:) or you can try a teaspoon of pure pumpkin. You can also try a warm water enema in a syringe, they tend to work rather quick. hope this helps |
Poopy True the pumpkin works great. You might also try some apples, or carrots for a treat. |
karo syrup helps, a warm towel on the belly. I think my girl was constipated to, she did not feel well for 2 days. She had a upset hard bloated belly. I had to syringe feed her some yogurt, we took a nap this morning, she woke up, poo'd & now shes all better:confused: |
Gracie has this problem upon ocassion. Try some metamucil (unflavored powder) sprinkled on thier food, for 6.5 lb dog I can use 3 tsps daily. She did need a little extra help a couple of weekends ago so my vet gave me Laxotene. It is actually used to prevent and aid in the digestion of hairball in cats. Sure enough one tsp of that and she was able to go :) It comes in a tube that looks like nutrical. Good Luck :) |

he seems fine today. The vet told me to put vaseline on his little butt and just watch him. it isn't as pooched out or as red as it was yesterday. i found two puppy piles today and I am almost sure one was from him but i didn't see him go. He said he is too young to have to express anal glands. he is only twelve weeks. thanks for all your advice. |

Glad he's ok. I've expressed my puppies at 8 weeks if they show signs of needing it done. |
I'm glad the little one is feeling better. That must have been scary due to the pups age. Hope things are back to normal now. Carol & Buddy |
