Vomiting Please help.. my yorkie has just vomited for the second time today. He is pooping normally, the only thing is that he ate some boiled chicken with his Eukanuba this afternoon. The vomit is yellow and watery. We've just made an appointment to the vet for tomorrow morning. Is there anything we can do up untill then? I still don't get why he is vomiting since he's eating what he would usually eat. :( |

I got silly when I took Jen's samples to the doc. I put it in a gift bag with a bow, wrote Jen's name along with ours. I thought that's the least I could do! I hope your appointment goes well. |

the vomit isn't actually needed. just a description. the tech will probably just throw it out. |

hahahaha poor Dan. but yeah, unless the vet requests it for some weird reason, i'd leave the puke in the trash. just remember what it looked like and if it was regurg or actual puke. they are different. |
Hmmmmm...... I'm going to take a wild guess here..... You work at.... A Library! No! No! A Bank! No....... one more try...... for a vet! By the way - Are there any Veteran Veterinarians? Are they very experianced or retired? Ex-Military? |

Hmmm... wealth of knowledge..... So can you take a look at this lump on my...... |
Thanks so much for the suggestions! He's thrown up a third time and is now asleep on the couch. We were going to take him to an emergency clinic, but the cost is too much. I guess we'll just have to wait for the appointment tomorrow morning. |
I am only posting this in hopes to set your mind somewhat at ease. My Max, several months ago, either got into something, or his diet was just not right....he was a little overweight (he was maybe a little over a year old at the time), but in the morning everything was normal...in the evening....totally not normal...he wouldn't eat, wasn't pooping like he normally did (I'm at home all day so I know when he goes or doesn't), and he all of a sudden started vomiting...just clear stuff, but I gave him some cottage cheese b/c I KNEW he loved it and that came up too...anything I gave him he upchucked. And it was almost continuous..not just a couple of times...it was clear, foamy stuff. Of course it was after hours on a Friday night, so off I went to the emergency clinic where they eventually said he had pancreatitis and wanted to keep him overnight (for an outrageous fee...I don't recall exactly how much but it was something like $1700 and then I had to pick him up by 7 am the next morning to take him to my normal vet to stay over the weekend with an IV and antibiotics.....I couldn't afford to leave him there b/c my husband had the credit card and would be home the next morning but I couldn't even reach him b/c of all things, his cellphone battery hadn't been charged and was dead....what a nightmare. But I will tell you that I took Max home for the night and kept him right next to me (did not give him ANYTHING to eat) and got him to my vet (funny thing..basically the same people who staff the emergency clinic) first thing on Sat. morning and he stayed there all weekend....Monday he was fine...they put him on a prescription diet (Hill's W/D) and we haven't had one single little problem in any way, shape or form since then, THANK GOD!!! I say, just keep him with you at home overnight, make sure he's hydrated (Pedialyte is a good thing to keep on hand) and get him to the vet asap in the morning. Please let us know how he's doing.....we used to let Max have boiled chicken all the time when we went out to dinner....they get over it kind of, so don't feel bad if he has to be on a special diet. Best wishes to you and your baby!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks to everyone who replied, he hasn't been eating anything for the past couple of days, so my dad gave him some boiled chicken. He's thrown up for the fourth time now, and he just went right back to sleep. I can't wait to see what happens with the vet tomorrow. I hope he can make it through the night without any more vomiting :( |

Hey everyone, Mocha is feeling much beter now. No more throwing up since last night, and the vet told us that it might have just been food poisoning. Thanks so much for all the helpful replies, we really appreciate it! |
