Jen has an obstructed intestine! Please say a prayer for her. Our dear little Jen ate something that is causing a blockage in her intestine. I feel just awful! She started to throw up yesterday and had a little diaherra so we kept a very close eye on her. She thew up some more this moring so we rushed her to the vet to make sure she stayed hyderated and next thing I know the doc says he can feel something in her so she got an x-ray. The x-ray showed abnormal gas pockets in her so she stayed all day. When I picked her up her leg was bandaged up to keep the catheter in and they put a EB collar on her so she was a cone head. Poor baby has to go back tomorrow for another x-ray to see if she is going to poop out what's in her and back on IV to make sure she stays hyderated. I pray she can poop it out... what in the world could she have eaten? As soon as Dan gets home we are going to check all the toys for holes or missing thread and stuff. |
Poor little thing. Did any of her toys have those plastic eyes? I can't give mine those kind because that's the first thing they chew off. I do hope she passes it and not have to have it surgically removed. |
Me too I hope she can pass it naturally. We checked the toys and there was a lot of hair on them - my hair! No missing eyes or noses. Couple with the stuffing coming out - those are gone. |
I'll keep Jen in my thoughts. Eddie used to eat absolutely EVERYTHING, from sticks to greenies to plastic toys. It was just pure luck that he outgrew that stage without getting sick. I'm sure she's gonna be fine. Please let us know! |
Poor baby! Will be praying that she is better today. We were blessed that Toto has never been a chewer because I am mortified that she will swallow something that won't pass!! ;) |
Prayers going out for Jen. Is she still eating at all? I pray that whatever it is can pass on it's own, but if the vet could feel it, it might be better for him to go ahead and get in there and get it out. Whatever it is must be pretty large:eek: I'd hate to see her get progressively weaker over the next few days and THEN have surgery. That's what happened to Starr:( Don't hesitate to get second opinion on the situation, either. God, I pray that Jen can just poop this thing out this morning! |
Oh, poor little Jenie. We'll be sending lots of hugs, kisses and prayers her way (yours, too). Please keep us posted. |
Awww I hope she can poop it out. Poor baby. She's in my prayers. |
How is she this morning.. poor baby I hope everything is alright soon! |
Oh gosh, I hope she can pass whatever is in her safely without the need for surgery. We'll be praying and thinking of her! |
oh no !!!! I'm so glad you caught this in time and will be praying for her....this will sound funny - but PRAYING FOR POOPS !!! |
I am so sorry for little Jen. I hope, whatever it is, comes out naturally. Buddy is a chewer of everything. He threw up a corner of something plastic Sun morning the size of a nickel! Last month it was a spider leg from a Xmas toy that lay in his intestine for 2 days before that came up. I never see him get these things. Hopefully she will get it up today or pass it. Buddy is three and still looking for things to swollow. Hugs to Jen from Buddy. Carol & Buddy |
Praying for Jen. Cali had what they thought was an intestinal obstruction but on the second xray taken 12 hours later it looked better but I still had the surgery done as she needed to be spayed and a liver biopsy done so since she was already at the er vet the surgeon did it all. It turned out that she didn't have one so hopefully Jen's will turn out to be just gas as well. |
oh poor baby, praying it will come out on its own ! |
Prayers going out for Jen . |
