help my Bizkit just ate some chocolate,is this a hugh concern? i know thats its not good for them too but i just dont know if its very serious or not |
Oh no! Okay, stay calm. How much chocolate? How dark of chocolate? |
It's bakers chocolate that is dangerous for dogs...if he/she ate a small peice (milk chocolate, M&M ) they may have loose poop but, I wouldn't worry too much...I'm not saying to give them milk chocolate! NO chocolate is really good for dogs but, as I said it's the bakers chocolate that is the bad one. |
Here's a thread to read |
its a belgin choc. sea shells pretty good size pieces for a little one like him. its not a dark choc tho. those that matter |

how many did he eat? |
he ate almost 2 pieces ,gah i'm so worried. |
you can give him a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to make him throw up. that is if he just ate the chocolate like within the past 5 minutes. |
it has been 10-15 minites ago and now he is pooping like crazy..3 times in the last few minites...is this good or bad |
If it was my dog, I'd be off to the emergency vet. How big is Bizkit? |
Runny poo or regular? |
he weighs 3.4 lbs we dont have a ER here for pets,i just dont know what to do. he has a vet appointment in the morning anyway to have test done for a liver shunt |
its runny and now he has started just standing here barking he dont usually do that |
Did you give the peroxide? Oh gosh, is there any vet clinic at all nearby that you could at least call for help? I'm worried for you guys:( |
call your vet, they should have an answering service for the on call vet in the area. Try that. |
i called the vet first thing and alli can do is leave my name and number for them to call me back, and he has not called yet |

the vet has not called yet,he seems to be fine so far, does anyone know how long it takes if signs show if he is seriously sick. he has already been having seizures before this happened. thank all of you for your support and help |
I feel aweful. I would be a nervous wreak. please keep us updated as to w2hat the vet said. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. |
i just got off the phone with the vet and i read her the ingredients in the choc. and she said he will be having a upset tummy tonight, and as soon as she said that he starting throwing up(glad i was on the phone with her at that time) she said it was good that he was getting it off his tummy.and said he should be fine but probably wont feel good tonight.shew thank God for that. she also said that they might have to postpone his bile acid tests that were to be done in the morning if he is still throwing up.i know he is a dog but he has become like a child to me. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP,YOUR THE BEST!!!! |

That's good news! It would stink to have to postpone his tests (are they fasting tests?) but at least he's okay! I think that all of us here can relate to what you said about him being like a child to you:laugh: You're in the right place! |
