Please Pray For Willow My sweet little Willow had her leg surgery yesterday at the University of Minnesota and they put the plate and screws in to repair the two broken bones and she did great. Today the pain medication is making her sick to her stomach and she won't eat anything for them. They called me up to the hospital and I was able to hold her for about an hour and she licked chicken baby food off my fingers and then layed her little head down in my lap. That was at about 3:00 p.m. today. It is now dinner time and they just called and she still doesn't really want to eat anything. I want her to start eating because she is supposed to come home tomorrow and I can't have her getting sick on me because we have 8 weeks of major confinement and care for that little leg. She has a four inch incision on the entire inner side of her leg from her little toes all the way up to her tummy. It is being held by a lot of little staples. All you can see are these three beautiful little legs and one little stick. It was a very horrific site and I burst into tears when I saw her and just held her and comforted her and tried to get her to eat. Can you please pray for my sweet Willow that she will start eating for them and how can we entice her to start eating so she can recover from her leg injury? Thanks so much to all of you. Love Pegi and Willow:aimeeyork P.S. My heart goes out to sweet baby Lacey and her family. I have to run an errand but will be back in two hours to send my condolances to Lacey's family and chat more. |
I am so sorry that Willow is having problems with the pain meds making her sick. I hate to think they might need to give her meds to keep her from getting sick from other meds!! I don't know how close you are to the hospital and whether they would let you bring her some food - but maybe try some boiled chicken and/or some fruit. They just might be more appetizing right now. More prayers coming your way!!! |
Prayers going out for Willow and you:) |
Prayers for Willow. Have you tried Cesar's or some chicken to entice her to eat? |
Poor sweetie:( What are they trying to feed her? If she was eating the babyfood for you, then maybe you'll just have to keep going up there to feed her? I dunno, but prayers are on the way for both of you:love: |
Poor Little sweet Heart ! Give a big kiss from Us ! Praying that Willow feels better real, real quick :hands: :getwell: |
Thank you everyone for your prayers. They worked. I brought her home. I went to the hospital and took the chicken baby food and cesar puppy food and that sweet little peanut just about ate my fingers off . . . and kissed me a lot. She was very hungry tonight and very stressed from her environment. The doctor was there and when he saw her perk up from my visit and the way she ate her food he made sure he discharged her so that I could bring her home tonight. She did have a fever earlier today and when they took it tonight . . . it was normal again. He said the best thing that we could do for her right now was to bring her home and let her get into her familiar surroundings again. She did real good on the car ride home . . . just snuggled with me. My best friend is in town right now from Chicago and she drove me there and told me it was okay to break down and cry cuz that is my baby. It felt good to finally let it out tonight and then I could be strong for my baby when I brought her home. Willow ate another little bit of food when she came home and she is all tucked in with her e-collar on and in her new cat kennel for the night. We hate it . . . but it is what the doctor ordered . . . so we have to do it. Thank you everyone for your support. |
Prayers for Willow that she will eat and heal quickly. Bless her little heart, she just needed her Mommy to make it all better:) Lucy and Rebel send kisses to make her feel better |

First of all, welcome to YorkieTalk! Sorry it had to be under these circumstances. I just saw this thread, and want to wish Willow a speedy recovery and I so understand your luv for your furbaby (as does everyone else here :) I am in Minnesota (west of the Cities) also and have an 11 month Yorkie and she is my first Yorkie. You are a great mommy and Willow is so blessed to have you as you are to have her. Sending healing thoughts to Willow and you {{{Willow}}}} |
Thank you so much Mary Kay. It has been a very long ordeal for us and I hope the worst is over. This morning however, Willow doesn't seem to be as hungry as I would like . . . so I am hoping the day will get better and she will eat a little more for me. |
