my puppy just stole gum from my pocket!! Paddy got hold of a small piece of my trident gum that has xylitol in it!! I pulled most of it out of his mouth but I'm afraid he may have swallowed some of it anyway. He isn't showing any signs of distress and its been about 15minutes. Is it ok if I just monitor him for signs of anything, or is this something I should rush to the vet for?? |
He should be ok but I would just call the vets and ask them to make sure. |
Hey hun, I DEFINATELY know how scary this is....Bella is always into EVERYTHING and stole a whole PACK of orbit gum from my sisters purse....and ATE it ALL! She spit up and I kept a really close eye on her and THank GOD she was ok....I think yours will be too. Good luck and keep us posted. |

I had a pup that got some Nicotine gum out of the wastepaper basket - stole a Demadex table out of my purse - and stole gum and lifesavers out of my jacket pockets. Boy - I learned all their tricks -and now - I'm really careful about what they might find. ****** I'm sure the Nicotine gum and the Demadex were far more dangerous than the stick of gum that your puppy got - luckily my little girl survived - but it sure taught me to be careful.
