Please pray for Tink's Poodle brother Indy had a grand mal seizure this morning when I was getting ready for work. It was terrible to watch and all I could do was put him on the floor and wait. He was so confused after and couldn't walk because he injured his back during the seizure. Plus he peed all over himself and my bed! He was terribly upset about that. I have to keep him sedated because of the injury to his back - no break but herniated disks. He's 17 yrs old and won't stay in a crate 'cause he was never crate trained. I can't let Tink be around him 'cause you know how puppies are. But she misses him so much and cries for him. He's pretty out of it because of the pain nedication to keep him sedated. The vet said Indy may recover but he won't know for a couple of days if his back will heal or not. If he doesn't get better in a couple of days the vet recommended that I let him go. I don't know how I can do that but I don't want him to suffer. I guess it's a good thing I got Tink last month to help me through this. She sure is a little hugger and kisser. |
aww bless i hope hes feeling better soon:aimeeyork |
I am so sorry for you. I lost my Abby just 2 months ago and we had a bad experience of watching her hearing and then her sight go. I too loved her so much!! I am thinking of you. |
I'm so sorry you're having to endure this. It isn't easy either way. Let us know if we can help. |
I'm so sorry:( I hope that a miracle happens and his back is able to heal. |
Indy is a little better today. He drank some water tonight - first he's taken since Tues before this happened. He tried to stand up and that's good, but he couldn't balance even with me holding his weight. :( He's still incontinent, but he can't walk, so what can you expect. We'll give it a couple more days. I cried so hard at work today, my boss told me to go home and hug my dog. So I did. I just layed on the floor beside him and put my arm across him and gave him little kisses. I don't think he's going to get better but I keep praying. He's been such a wonderful little buddy and he's been soooo good and patient with Tinkerbelle. I'm just amazed at how good he's been with her. Everyone is asleep but me and I just want to stay up and watch Indy, but I know I need my rest. Thanks for the prayers, I know they help. And thanks for giving me a place to bare my soul.:unlove: |
Will keep you and Indy and Tink in my prayers. Sending hugs :ghug:. I sure hope that Indy is able to pull through.... |
Aw poor baby :( He's in my prayers, and I hope that he is able to recover |
Update of Tink's Brother Indy is better today. Yesterday, he stood up by himself and took some little steps and laid back down. He's eating and drinking and is pretty alert. I got lots of kisses today. I had to reduce the meds starting Saturday so the vet could access him today. He has completely recovered from the seizure. The vet said he might make it after all, if I can keep him quiet to give the swelling in his back a chance to get better. So, we'll take it a day at a time and see how he does. I have more hope now. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for him. |
I'm just seeing this and am so sorry !! IT sounds like he's recovering and maybe will be ok and stay with you a little longer ??? bless your heart - Indy sounds very loved. Your boss sounds really nice too - that has to help alot when you have that kind of support - so many people at our jobs (or even family) just don't understand how much we love our dogs.....All the best to Indy and I hope he gets stronger with each day. |
Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, I'm fortunate to have a pet-lover as my boss. She is very understanding. I am praying really really hard that Indy can stay here on earth with me for a little while longer before I have to give him back. My precious boy. |
Prayers heading northward! Wow, 17 years is a long life for Tink. You've been so blessed. I will keep Tink in my prayers and a candle lit for him. |
