Help, little Fry dropped on tile! Hi, My mother's little 3 month old yorkie was dropped on his head, on the tile in the kitchen. It was from about 2 feet high. He yelped for a very long time but is now, about 10 min later very quiet and laid back as usual. When he blinks it is very slowly, and my mother and I are very worried about him. He doesn't get excited for treats like usual and every once in awhile he shivers a bit, not a seizure, just a little shiver. We both are in love with this little puppy and don't want anything to happen to him. Is there a specific sign we should look for as a warning? Should we take him to the emergency vet? Should we allow him to sleep? Help! |
Take him to your vet now!!!!Good luck. |
you need to get him to the vet ASAP. |

(Please help me with this if I am wrong YTer's!) Several months ago a member posted (can't remember if it was a members pup or a story that was posted) about a very tiny yorkie (like under 3 lbs full grown) that the owner was holding...they also had a remote (?) in their hand. They dropped the remote about 4 inches and it landed on the dogs head...they thought the dog was sleeping and come to find out the dog was unconscious! they rushed it to the vets and (if I am correct) the dog ended up with a fractured scull..the dog did survive but, I would definitely take him to the vets...I wouldn't want to wait...especially if he isn't acting normal. JMO though..Good Luck and I hope he is going to be ok |
If he was dropped ON his head and you see him acting abnormal - vet asap !! the part that would scare me is the blinking and shaking :( good luck - & please let us know how he is ok ??? |
Good Luck, please take to a vet. It happened to my Yorkie a couple of years ago. She had a concussion and needed to stay overnight at ER for observation and IV support. |
what is the update on this baby? Did you take it to the Vet and is it okay? |

Thank you all! Sorry it's taken so long to respond. Fry is doing fine. He went to the vet and they said he would be ok. He's back to his old frollicking self again :) |
