Bulging stomach When I purchased my puppy there was a little bulge at the very lowest part of her stomache. There was a vet that checked her and said he thought it was fine because he could press on it and tuck it back into place without her showing discomfort. 4 months later and today I noticed there were two very large lumps on her lower stomach. It looks like her guts are sticking out. Or like two swollen glands. She doesn't seem bothered, but I am wondering if anyone elses yorkies have this. Is it because they are so small that their stomachs/intestines are sqished? We fly home in less then 2 weeks and I will have my vet check her out, but I am wondering if this is something serious?? |
I'm certainly far from an expert, but it sounds like a hernia. Most times it is not serious, though you do want to cradle the lower legs when you pick them up so as not to stress the area. If it is, it can be fixed simply during spaying. |
It could be inguinal hernia's, and they definitely should be checked by a vet. Usually they are fine until spay/neuter time and then can be repaired, but they need to be looked at to make sure they don't need attention sooner and especially if the situation is changing. I would just go get her looked at and see what the vet says, plus you can have the vet you use call the previous vet and they can compare exams to determine if it is worsening. Good luck and I hope all works out for you and your little one!! |
Hernia makes sense. Relief. I will update when we see the vet. Thanksso much :) |
