i need any suggestions i can get! i recently got my yorkie jack a brother and it has turned into a disaster.....i purchased a standard poodle puppy 4 months ago when he was 8 weeks old. (needless to say not from a good "breeder") since the day i got him he has had chronic diariah, he has been diagnosed and treated for hookworms, roundworms, whipworms (treated multiple times with albon) coccidia, giardiah (treated with panacur and amoxicillan) campylobacter (treated with metrinitizole) we have tried prescription diet food, he has visited with over 5 different vets (most recently with the louisiana state university veterinary school) he has showed no improvement, increasingly dehydrated regardless of drinking sooo much water! he is also slowing in weight gain and not acting like the 6 month old puppy he is.. any opinions or ideas are welcome! maybe someone can come up with something the vets are overlooking? by the way, come to find out, this same jerk of a "breeder" is selling yorkie puppies on a web site http://www.yorkiespoodlesandmore.com/ he needs to be shut down! after getting my puppy i did a little research and found that other people are having the same problems with their yorkies! i cant imagine a tiny 2lb yorkie puppy going through the same thing!!

Did they do blood work on him???

Have you reported this breeder? I hate your dog and any other has to go thru that. It's all about the almighty dollar these days, some people just don't care about how they breed. They just want to make money, it's sad!

Whoops, I forgot to add that I'm sorry you and your little pup are going through all of this, I hope everything gets better.

i think i blood work with be the next step since they have done fecal testing everytime we go...

On the fecal testing, did they do just a fecal float for parasites or did they also do a bacterial screening for bad bacteria?
If there is some bad bacteria that require a specific antibiotic, the course he has received won't do the trick.

I'm so sorry. Did you do bile acid test for liver shunt? I can relate with my Yorkie that I bought from a show breeder almost 3 months ago, Ajendas in Fl. He has been sick on and off since he arrived. He's back on metronizadole, lost weight, can't eat ID or any prescription food, right now only on white rice. We don't know if it's food allergy or worse. He reacts badly to poultry. He is vicious towards one of my dogs. The animal hospital treated him by day because he seems to have been abused, does circles all the time and they didn't want to stress him by caging him more and admitting him. I've had to cancel two trips. I wanted a traveling companion and was lied to and bought a disaster.
He sees a gastro specialist wed. and will have a blood panel , biochemical profile, chest and adominal x-rays, abdominal ultrasound, and whatever needs to follow. He has had so many fecal exams that I've lost track. He's vet bills so far exceed the $3,000. I paid for this poor dog. I never received his health guarentee or contract from this awful breeder. She hung up on me when I questioned his behavoir on arrival. I know she wanted to get rid of him fast, wanted to ship him two days later, asked me nothing. I thought she was reputable from posts here but have since found out otherwise from others. She knew what she was dumping on me and was happy to do it, laughed afterwards. So don't beat yourself up, anyone can get stuck.

good news!! (:hopefully:) i decided to take spencer to a vet i use to go to out in "the country" (prairieville) we stopped going to him because it was such a drive but i really liked him and he always had some unconventional remedies for my yorkie.. anyway after literally five minutes of looking through the pile of paper work i brought from other vets he had the answer.. tylan.. usually used on his horse and cow patients! his vet tech was having the same exact problems with her lab puppy and said it cleared up in 3 days!! dr. griffith said that it happens with these large pure breeds sometimes, some kind of growth of bacteria in the colon that gets out of control that doesnt let his little body fight off all these other parasites! i am surprised that if this is the case that lsu could not have figured this out.. they called this morning to tell me the only thing they found in his fecal lab tests were salmonella!! ohh well lets hope this works!! thanks for all the replies!!

Somewhere on this forum is a place for a list of bad breeders. Please put that breeder on the list!

Pretty pup needs to put this breeder up in the bad breeders post to. I wonder can you do it without them knowing it was you. I would hate for the breeder to know my address and telephone and try to retaliate.:confused:

I put her on the bad breeder thread and 3 of her friends joined to praise her and hassle me. Now one posted a negative about her but doesn't have any of her dogs. Anyway she hung up on me and has my phone number, address, etc., ignores me. She knows that she lied, it seems to come naturally for her. She has her money and doesn't care. When she was posting poor quality pups on puppyfind under another ID, I got them to remove her friend's positive feedback. She now has 1 ID account on there but it will change. When someone has that mentality, know all the tricks of a con artist. They don't care about dogs. There was another breeder on YT whose friend got stuck with another of her vicious dogs to show and rehomed it. Mine is vicious towards dogs not people. It's hard because I have 2 other dogs. Plus, when you buy a new puppy, one expects to have joy in their home not a burden. Sure I've had pups arrive with parasites over the years but it wasn't a biggie, this shouldn't happen either but some breeders don't take care of their own. My Mi-Ki puppy is from a big show breeder and he had Giardia as well as all her dogs. She didn't treat them and told me it was too expensive since she has 15 dogs. She sure charged enough that she could have treated them.
I now have 3 dogs with "vicious one" and that will be it, no more ever again. It's changed my whole life, my grandchildren aren't allowed here because we don't trust this Yorkie with children. My husband is furious with me for getting this Yorkie. I was told she was a reputable breeder. We lost a female in July, that we both adored. I've owned Yorkies over the years but never had one like this. He was caged and abused so his trainer says. His a victim of bad breeders (co-bred with another loser Fondarosa) as well. Oh their supporters are right now calling them about this post.

I agree with prettypuppypink (btw thank you for your sweet reply on my thread :) ) ... its so sad that people who are wanting to open their homes and hearts to a sweet lil yorkie/puppy, and instead get tricked it dispicable.:mad: I got kikko here in taiwan, and b/c i don't know the language i was an easy target when I bought kikko - they even gave me a free vet check up but their vet was in it the whole time... thankfully kikko is a sweetheart even if he's sick. my vet and other friends here have been really nice and helping us out a lot by getting the people to pay for our vet and treatment bills. Gluck to everyone whoever has to deal with this! my heart is with you .. and all i got to say is for those bad breeders out there, karma baby .. karma

Dayum, this scares me as I am looking to purchase a 2nd puppy. I am pulling my hair out and to know people are out here doing foul things like this is ridiculous. I want my friends to be real friends to me and tell me when I am wrong and when I do wrong. Not defend me for my wrongdoings. It sounds like you have a legit complaint, I wish you well with your yorkie. And like Camly said, Karma baby, when Karma comes around again, they won't know it's because of how they treated people.
