Please Help!!! don't know what's going on I don't know what's wrong with Kayah. for the past couple of days she's been shaking like crazy even when it's not cold (in the house it's 70 degrees and she has a shirt on). can anybody tell me if maybe she got a cold from going outside to potty? she's not out long.. but I know that it doesn't take long to get sick... Please help me, I don't know what to do.. should I take her to the vet? or do you guys think this will pass in a few days. Edith |

Shaking can also be a sign of stress or pain. If it continues or worsens call your vet. |
At 69 degrees Lucy is in a sweater or she shakes from the cold. |
her gums are nice and pink and red.. gonna give heer nurti cal now.. hope it hepls.. but i've been giving her that for two days now.. and it doesn't seem to be helping |

70 degrees should definitely be warm enough for your little dog. My little guy was playing outside today in 40+ degree weather and I couldn't get him to come in. And believe me, he wasn't cold at all. He was runnning around playing and tossing leaves all over. He just did not want to come in. It's too bad you can't take your dog's temperature. But anyway - if her shaking is something she usually doesn't do - I would certainly take her to the vet... I am the last one to ever go to the vet - really, I am not a worrywort - but sometimes shaking can be a symptom of something serious that should be taken care of ASAP. Or it could be nothing at all -- let's hope for that! Nevertheless, I think this is one time - I'd be on my way to the vet. Keep in touch! Carol Jean |
my vet's closed today. if she is still shaking tomorrow, I am going to take her in. She doesn't normally shake in the house. But she does not like being outside.. she ALWAYS shakes out there, but stops almost immediately when we get inside.. not this time. If she continues to shake or get worse try a 24 hour vet there are quite a few in the Chiacago area. Let me know where about you are and I can help find one. |
thereare a couple by my house.. i went with her to one and I didn't really like their service.. and the other ones look dirty:rolleyes: mommy wants the best for her baby:p |
if the eartips are cold, then the puppy's cold... My dog gets cold when it's less than 70 degrees... he's 4 lbs. try to make her warm and comfortsble, feed a little food, maybe try baby chicken food in a jar if she doesn't eat her dog food. is her potty normal? is she playful? if she's not herself, i'd definitely take her to the vet. |
her ears are a little chilly, but not cold. she is acting like herself.. just has the spasm-like shakes.. but I think she may be cold.. i'm sitting in a wool sweater and my Vicki's pj pants (and I have warm slippers on) and I'm shaking myself. I hope it's just that she's cold. I don't like her being sick.. but then again, who likes it when their babies get sick?! |
I think I would make an appointment with a vet since it's something that just started out of the blue. I would also suggest the sugar, but since it doesn't seem to help low blood sugar probably isn't the cause. It could be a thyroid disorder or some neurological activity like seizures. She hasn't come in contact with any lead (paint chips or drapery weights) has she? I usually keep my house about 70, 72 this time of year and mine are 4 pounds and don't shake from being cold. |
