can ticks jump from one dog to another? yesterday i discovered tiggy had ticks, which i was able to remove intact; but can ticks who are already on one dog, make a leap to another dog? it is so hard to check chestnut and lulu because of their dark hair. thanks everyone |
I haven't heard of them leaping before, but If one has them I'm sure I would be checking the others along with the bed ect... |
If one of your dogs has ticks, then you can bet the others have them too. I would start by washing all bedding and start a tick control program on the yard and the dogs to keep them safe from tick borne diseases like lyme diseases which most often is contracted in September, October and November when deer ticks are the most numerous. If they are in contact with a wooden dog house it also is most likely infested, spraying it with Listerine will make the ticks come out and die. |
i read that they will jump to the weakest dog. (health wise) |
