HELP We have missing teeth!! Hello All I have done a search, but cannot find a definate answer. My new baby has two missing teeth and I was wondering if this was normal. Do the adult teeth come in around 11 weeks? Should I look for them somewhere? Is this an emergency? HELP!!!! |
How old is your new baby????? I brought my puppies home at 8 weeks and they didn't have all their baby teeth in yet. Then they start teething around 4 months of age, where they will lose all their baby teeth and grow adult teeth. |
he is 11 weeks |
I am sure he just hasn't gotten all his baby teeth in yet. I really wouldn't worry about it too much honestly. I think they'll grow in eventually. As long as he's eating fine, I wouldn't worry. |
Those are baby teeth and they haven't all come in yet at that age. Adult teeth don't start erupting until older than 4 months usually 5 months when I really start seeing them come through. I just had a little 8 month old female spayed and she retained a lot her baby teeth. I had those removed at the same time as the adult teeth plus the retained baby teeth were overcrowding her mouth. Most of my pups lose their baby teeth except I sometimes have to have canines removed. You don't have to start worrying about this until more than 7 months of age sometimes older depending on how many are retained and if there isa crowding problems occuring. |
Thanks for the help guys, but he had the teeth in his mouth at the vet the other day I am sure. Yet now the front two bottom teeth are missing as if he broke them biting his cage!! I am worried, but he seems fine. He is not eating a lot though. |
My puppy just turned 6 1/2 months. One morning I noticed she too had lost all her teeth on the bottom front row. These were her baby teeth. Within a week or so she had already sprouted new permanent teeth. Good luck with your pup. |
yup i went through the same here, all my 3 dogs when they were that small had "missing" teeth, when really it has not come out yet take care |
Keep an eye on his mouth. I would have him checked out Monday. He may have broke them, biting his cage. If he is eating dry kibble, dampen it to soften it up. Definitely I would have him looked at Monday. |
