nervous yorkie ever since I can remember our 2 year old yorkie is just a nervous dog, she wont sit down in your lap or anything just always walking around, looking to get in stuff or will play with bones or toys but wont just lay down. we also have another 1 year old yorkie and she is a bit calmer and will sit in your lap. is there anything i can do to calm the older one down. thanks Brandon |
I would suggest Rescue Remedy. Search for it here and there are several posts about it. |
I agree Bach's Rescue Remedy available at health food stores for about $7.00 is at least worth a try. |
nervous yorkie :) Is your dog getting enough exercize? Nervous dogs benefit from daily walking. They tend to become neurotic if cooped up in the house all day. Walking gets rid of their anxiety and gives them a purpose. When I walk my dogs they are very happy and calm. Good luck Periwinkle |
Tis True I walk mine & chase them around the house-yorkies love playing cat & mouse, lol. We get good & wore out. That keeps us well rounded & calms us.:D |
My Pom was like that. She never laid down unless she was sleeping under my bed. She would pant and be restless when awake. It took her years to calm down enough to lay on my bed and relax. Vet said she was a highly excitable dog. She is almost 10 now and is more relaxed but still a nervous type. It is just her personality. |
