Can you relate? So yesterday morning Coco threw up a little. lt was just yellow foam, bile, probably from an empty stomach I thought. Well I got home to find that she'd thrown up about the size of a quarter, and there was some blood in it. I called the vets and her doc said to keep an eye on her. She was and still is acting normal, her stool is solid and normal, no blood in that or mucus. She threw up again at 230am. I have an appointment for her at the vets but she seems ok. Should I give her an egg this morning to settle her stomach? Has anyone else experienced this? She's acting totally normal  |
oooh sorry nobella, i dont know the answer to that... i hope she feels better, iwill bump this up |
I don't know. Maybe she ate something yesterday that upset her tummy??? Sometimes Roxy would throw up for no reason and be totally fine... |
She doesn't have run of the house when i'm not home (she gets too scared  ) so I can't think of what she could have gotten into. The vomit doesn't scare me as much as the bloody vomit :( |
Was it alot of blood or just a trace? B/c back when I was have tummy troubles with TJ there was a night that he threw up 3 or 4 times and on the 4th time there was a trace of blood. The Vet said it was ok that his insides were irritated from thrwoing up. However, if there was alot of blood, then I would bring her to the Vet. |

I think I would watch and feed her as normal. If it continues and is more frequent I then would become more concerned. Good Luck, and I hope it was just a lil belly ache and its gone. |
Well she threw up a TON of blood so I rushed her to the vet. They injected her with fluids under her skin because she was a bit dehydrated. They also injected her with anti-nausea meds and took a full blood panel. The doctor said I need to throw away her budda bones, and nyla bones, etc. because they collect bacteria and that could have caused the illness. I hope it's nothing serious but the fact that she's maintained a healthy weight, has no fever, is active and has an appetite is comforting. I should find out the results of the blood test tonight. I'm nervous :( |
I hope she gets better really soon. But what is a bubba bone? |
Oh my goodness! Poor Coco. :( :( :( Surely it was just a bacterial infection from the bones and surely she'll be fine. That makes complete sense, though, that the bacteria from the bones made her sick. That is definately something we all need to be aware of. Please keep us updated. (((((((BIG HUGS))))))) to Coco!!! :getwellso :nursing: :love-hug1 :getwell: :big_hug: :hug60: |

My poor Coco-mo. Give her LOTS of kisses from her auntie and her cousins Codie and Tia (and Cali)!! Babe call me as soon as the vet gets back to you with the test results. I'll be worried all night. :( :( |
WOW, ok that's really great that the Vet is doing a blood panel, please keep us posted b/c this is a great example for all of us. I am throwing away the Nylabones when I get home. What about the Merrick Flossies??? I always have a few lying around. I cut off the part that is (soft/wet/chewed) after I take them away because its bed time. I wonder if they are a problem too? Oh I hope not, b/c they do love them. WOW again, oh I hope little Coco bear feels better soon! :) |
Wow I hope everything is ok. I throw them bones out the end of the 2nd day. So my yorkies can have them for 2 days. |
:getwell: :littleang Mimi :aimeeyork Coco |
Yikes! I just saw this. I hope she'll be ok, Nobella. |
