Chloe was dropped...:( Hi Everyone! My precious Chloe was dropped by my 4 year old son 2 days ago, while I was throwing in some laundry. We have since taken precautions, so this never happens again however! I just wanted to say that first! However, I didn't see obviously when he dropped her, but when I walked over to her, she was laying on her left side with her legs sticking out. Then she rolled on her belly and then pee peed a little. I let her lay there for about 3 minutes, and then gently tried to stand her up. She stood up slowly, and started walking slowly around. She has been her normal self, as far as her personality, and eating drinking, and pooping and peeing. All look normal. However, she has been very sleepy yesterday and today. And now when she is walking, it is sort of a crooked walk??? When she sits she seems to wobble a little, but she doesn't seem out of it or anything. I have examined her body and felt her to see if she responds to any pain, and she doesn't seem to. I gave her a bath today, and afterwards dried her, and she was very playful afterwards!! She was running around and everything, even with her swayed walking... (poor baby).I don't have too much $$$ right now for the vet. I'm thinking she may just be bruised or shaken up still, and is trying to rest on her own to recover. She doesn't seem to have any broken bones or any pain when touching her...?? Any advise or similar situation would be grately appreciated! Thanks guys!:aimeeyork |
aww poor baby, my sasha (rip) was dropped by my friend a few years ago so i now how you feel, she cried a bit but was fine. maybe shes a little brused and will be back to normal in a few days but to be on the safe side if shes still walking funny i would take her to the vet, she could of banged her head and thats why shes walking funny. i hope shes back to normal soon.:) |
I would be very concerned if she appears to be off balance. It could be something simple or could be more serious like a concussion. If she laid there for a few minutes and peed a little after she was dropped, she was probably not conscious for a short period of time. My instinct tells me to have her checked by your vet, even if you need to make arrangements for a payment plan - but that is just me. I hope everything turns out okay. Please keep us posted. |

I just want to say I hope she's going to be ok !! You know her better than anyone I agree - if she's showing signs of not being herself - I would have the vet take a look at her - she could have a slight concussion - did she get sick ever ? It's a good sign that she's eating and drinking but the wobbly part would bother me too...GOOD LUCK ! |
Aww, poor little thing. I hope she's ok. I agree with everyone else, get her a check-up just to be nothing serious will show up down the road. Sending a prayer that all is well. |
Well my Teddy was dropped a couple days ago by a 6ft man, and he cried soo much but he is much better now. My thread is a little under yours. So since your son is so little I'm sure your baby probably didn't get that hurt. Still I would take him to the vet, but I am sure he will be fine. Teddy was also sleepy after he feel, he kept yawning and closing his eyes but then he was right back to normal when he saw food lol I hope everything is okay |
I'd certainly be concerned about the wobbly walking, especially if it was a few days ago, and this is still going on. I know a good while back, vet did let me make payments on emergency with my cat, maybe you can do the same. |
hi. layla was dropped when she was just new... 3 months maybe... i cried more than she did! she wobbled a bit but was ok. i got a concussion last week and i am a bit "wobbly" .. very dizzy... so she might have a concussion if she landed on her head.. and for the most part.. you just have to wait it out.. if that is what it is... give it a week... she if she improves... if everything else is fine.. eating.. pooping.. she might just need a bit of time... chances are her head was hit and concussions are easy to get... they are just your brain hitting your skull.... i'm lucky mine is just minor.. but i feel for your baby! keep us posted! |
Thanks soooo much everyone for the insight, and help!! I do appreciate it sooo much!!! I am going to get her to a vet by the end of the week if she doesn't improve! It seems like she is getting better little by little with the wobbling, and everything else with her seems fine. She is only 3 months old, so she may just need a couple more days to recoup and let her body heal from the impact...?? She def stays by my side 24/7. She is such a mommys girl! :) I will keep you all updated! And thanks again, as always, my fellow yorkie moms and dads....:) :aimeeyork |
