new mommy please help!!!!! Hello my name is Kia and i have a 13 week old yorkie male. I've never had a puppy before so please forgive me if im being a hypcondriac(sp?). When i woke up this morning to feed lucky I saw a yellowish like discharge(was not urine:p ) on the floor. The discharge was kinda sticky and something i've never seen before.(It reminded me of bile) Lucky seems fine he is very cheerful(as usual:animal36 ) and has a good appetite. He does not have any symptoms of what i would define as ill. Please Help could this be worms? |
Welcome to YT!! Don't ever be worried about asking questions here .... we have some very knowledgeable members. Our Toto has thrown up what you described a few times. It's usually when she is stressed or trying to get accustomed to some sort of change. We used to rush her to the vet and tests, etc. always showed that she was perfect .... now that she is 3 yrs. we just watch her closely for any symptoms of illness. She has always been disgustingly healthy!! :p Hopefully someone else will have more insight to this problem. Again, welcome and we are looking forward to seeing pics and hearing all about your Yorkie baby! ;) |
I am no expert either, but I have experienced seeing what you described many times. Jeter was a puker until I found a food that his system could handle. I went through probably 5-6 different foods. He now eats Blue Buffalo. My vet just told me that he had a sensitive tummy. Hope this helps and welcome to YT. You will LOVE it here. |
It is stomach bile. They all do it occasionally. Sometimes they will eat grass and you will see grass along with it. Nothing to be alarmed about unless he is not eating or if he is throwing up after he eats for an entire day. They just get little upset stomachs occasionally. |
Thank you sooooo much! My husband has just informed me that he introduced our lucky to dry food last night:rolleyes (he tells me after my heartattack!!!) I guess his stomach didnt take it well. |

When introducing new foods, do it slowly, digestive track is a little touchy in some yorkies. |
Yep, sonds like bile... Keep a close look on him and if it gets more take him to the vet. But they all do it once in while... :aimeeyork |
I think the yellow foamy bile in most cases is cause by an empty stomach. If this happened in the morning or during the night, try feeding him a late bedtime snack and feed as soon as he wakes in the morning. I think if it was a food problem, he would have thrown up the food, not stomach acid or had diarrhea. |
How is Lucky doing? |
