after spayed incision 1 Attachment(s) Coco had her stiches out today and her incision does not look right. The tech who took out her stitches didn't seem to think any thing was wrong. Also my Coco gets car sick how can I help for the next road trip. ThankAttachment 72007 |
Did you have the vet look at the incision? I surely wouldn't trust the tech's opinion on something like that. I give my son's lab mix Dramamine for car trips as she gets sick, but she's between 35-40 pounds. I'd check with the vet for little dogs, don't want to overdose them. I've found in the past that the more they ride in the car, the less prone to getting sick they get. Try taking her on little trips close to home before venturing out on a cross-country. Best of luck to you. |
what does the incision look like? any way you could take a picture of it? |
The scar should not be red or hot. I would also take her temperature and make sure that is in the normal range of 101.5 to 102.5. The incision should not be oozing any fluids. The do look better with time after they flatten out and lighten, but trust your instincts. Here's a good link to car sickness - it covers everything from behavior modification to dramamine dosage and other natural anti-nausea and calming remedies. http://lowchensaustralia.com/health/carsick.htm |
I am curious to see what the incision looks like. My Yorkie is a Coco too, and she was recently spayed. the stitches will be removed at the end of the week. My vet used stapes....I don't know if that was the best option. I would request to meet with the vet.... good luck. |
thanks everyone, I will try to take a picture of the incision. The incision doesn't look flat. But there is no oozing and she seems fine .thanks again for the great infor.:aimeeyork :thumbs up |
Maddie was spayed and also had two hernias removed. She has two incisions. They had stitches and after they were removed it was raised not red or anything but it was raised. Its been about 3 weeks and they are flatting out. Not sure if that helps. |
