I would think it was fleas. Look for fleas or flea dirt. They look like brown specks of dirt, but if you put some on a white paper and add a little water they will turn pink because they are really dried blood.
If you see evidence of fleas, giving him a bath with Dawn dishwashing liquid will drown the fleas that are on him right now. Stay away from the flea shampoos a lot of dogs have reaction to them and they are very drying to the skin (which fleas love by the way). Then buy a flea collar, cut it up and put it in your vaccuum and then start vacuuming every day to pick up the eggs. You can spritz him with a mixture made of one ounce water, 1 drop tea tree oil, 1 drop lemon grass oil, one drop citronella to keep them off of him until you get the house cleared. |
