Simon's got a belly scratch~still bleeding!!!! Are belly scratches bleeders like ears? Simon was playing with Charlie, the doggie next door and Charlie just got his nails cut and accidentally scratched Simon's belly. It's still bleeding but I've cleaned it off and it's really a small scratch. Hallie got her ear nicked once and someone told me that ears bleed a lot (and it did). I'm wondering if bellies are the same? |
Is Simon still bleeding or has it stopped? I dont know if the bellys are more sensitive or not. i have read you can use septic powder to get the bleeding stopped. |
AWWWWW poor little guy. :( I don't know if bellys are bleeders or not, but I wanted to tell Simon to GET WELL SOON! :) Let us know how he's doing. |
I took this excerpt from animalplanet.com Controlling Bleeding Once you’ve controlled the bleeding clean the wounded area thoroughly, then cover it with gauze pads. For back, belly and limb wounds, secure the dressing with cotton fabric placed on the wound, then wrap and tie it around his abdomen or limbs using a cotton sheet or strips, or stretch bandaging. Outer ear wounds are best left unbandaged, but those on the inside of floppy ear flaps should be covered. Fold ears on top of your dog’s head to allow for good air circulation to the wound, then secure the ears in place with a bandage wrapped under his chin and tied on top of his head. Please give Simon lotsa kisses from Sophia and I XoXoXo |
Thanks Fran! I was holding it with a wet cloth for what seemed like forever. The bleeding has stopped but WOW that little scratch bled. I put an old baby tshirt on him after I put some cream on it. He is sleeping now after some soccer playing so I know he is feeling okay :) |
