I found a lump 1 Attachment(s) I have a 15 week old yorkie who is so cute. This evening we were in the car coming home from petco and my husband noticed a little lump below her right shoulder. I am going to call her vet tomorrow when they open and see about an appt right away. I just wanted to know how common are fatty lumps in yorkies? I mean its a possibility that its nothing, but I know what its like to have a dog with cancer and right now I am terrified!!! She is so young and I love her so so much!!!! I am just looking at this like maybe its not a tumor? I can just hope and pray right now but my stomach is churning right now. I wont know anything until tomorrow, but I just want to be reassured for the time being. Attachment 67680 |
Has she been vacinated recentlly. Sometimes they have lumps from that and it is fine. In time they go away |
Did she just get shots? Shots are normally given in the shoulder and it is quite common for yorkies to develop a lump as a reaction to the shot. Both of mine got a lump every single time they got shots. Just watch it and make sure it doesn't get bigger. If it gets bigger, you will have to take her to the vet. It might be a staph infection, in which case you will just have to give her antibiotics. |

Same thing I was going to ask.....I think it took almost 3 weeks before the lump went away on my babies. |
Yes, she had her shots on the 16th. She also had a micro chip put in near that area. |
That's probably all it is. Sometimes can take up to a month for the lump to go away. But, have it checked out for peace of mind. |
My puppy is 10 months old and I found a lump, was his microchip. He also had a lump after his Rabies innoculation which we put off as long as possible. Jessica |
Good luck on your baby's vet visit. I'm sure it is nothing but be sure & let that vet reassure you. We can't take any chances with our sweeties. Speaking of microchips, is it true that they can move around under the skin? Or even pop back out? Haven't had that done yet. I'm trying to save the spaying, microchipping & puppy teeth all for one time.:aimeeyork |
