green blister My Nami was playing in the dirt and when she got in, she had a green blister like thing on her belly. It almost looks like green spearmint gum that is stuck to her like a bubble. Any ideas what this is? She has had this before but it was very small, a few days later, it fell off and took a layer of skin with it....yuck! I am going to take her to the vet today, but with me living in Okinawa, the vet and I do not converse very well, so I was wondering if any of you know what this may be. He just treats it, and attempts to tell me what to do for after care. This is so frustrating!! I wish I knew Japanese!!! |
I wish I knew what to tell ya but I dont..I just wondered what you were doing in Japan..it must be so hard living there if you dont know the language..is it beautiful? Dawn |
It is very beautiful, we are in the military and are stationed here. Though, the Japanese are very helpful, it is still frustrating to communicate...especially in times like these! |
here is a suggestion.. ask him to write down on paper what this is or what you want to know and use the online translator. there are lots of them for free use. and you can go in with your questions already in his language then bring home the results to read. kind of a genaric way to do it but it will get it done. i kind of feel the same way around here sometimes. mostly spanish and i don't know a lick of it. good luck |
I am guessing, not seeing the green bubble, and not being a vet, but green usually means infection. so I would say that you are going to get an antibiodic to give to your pet |
What horse and hound said, green is usually infected puss. Sounds like it cleared up if it's gone, but she still might need some antibiotics incase it got in her system. |
I haven't a clue! Wanted to wish you luck on this!! |
Green probably means infection. I would suspect that it might be a staph infection which is resistant to many antibiotics. Even with the language barrier I would think the vet is going to recognize it for what it is and be able to provide you with the proper treatment just by looking at it. |
are you saying this is something similar to a leach that has attached its self? and how long did it take before it fell off? |
Does the pup go outside without it and then come back in with it? Do you think it could be a parasite of some kind? |
I took her to the vet and found out that it is a very weak form of Pyoderma. Apparantly the shampoo that I am using is too strong for her skin, and is causing it to blister on her belly. The vet said to just use a different shampoo that he prescribed from now on.. our little girl is very high maintenance compared to our pit bull Penny!:animal36 |
