Butt dragging? Eddie has been occasionally scooting his butt across the ground for no apparent reason. Does this indicate worms? I don't see anything in his stool. |
Maybe he needs his anal glands expressed. |
I wanted to ask the same question boo is 9 weeks and is doing this too i see nothing in his poop peeka is also 9 weeks and he seems to be iching his butt to do they need glads extracted this young? |

Ah, thanks, I've heard of that but hadn't considered it. I'll call the vet. |
Definitely needs his anal glands expressed by the vet. |
Just like everyone else said, either Worms or Anal Glands |

well i have an appt on monday for shots do u think they could wait that long? |
RoxyJo did that a few times, but each time I checked, she had a little bit of poop in her fur. I couldn't see it, I had to feel for it. As soon as I washed her bottom, she would quit scootin'. |
You can wait until Monday. It will drive you nuts because you hate to see them do that because you they are uncomfortable, but once it's done you're good to go for another 6 months or so. |
ok i'm really sorry to impead on your thread i was just about to post this topic though:D also is there a way to tell if it needs to be expresses like can you see it or anything? i just didn't know they needed it a 9 weeks weird? Again thank you for letting me impeed on your thread!! :D |
It could be anal glands or something stuck in the fur like others have posted. I know my Mini Schnauzer does this every time she comes home from the groomer for a day or two. Not sure if it's just irritated from being shaved or what. omega |
You should be able to just take him to the groomers and have his anal gland expressed. At least I know the groomers around here will do it and its way cheaper than having a vet do it. |
they have only had one set of shots so i can't take them to the groomers yet. |
