Warning about tennis balls!!! We had to rush my best friends Yorkie to Emergency today. We got back from a walk to find the poor little one just laying on the floor...she couldnt move her back legs. She had been having a bad case of the runs from 3am in the morning and the only thing different from her usual diet was my friend bought a "chuck it" toy ( the ones to throw the balls further) and it came with a new tennis ball. Baby chewed on it for about 1/2 hour and a few hours later she was sick. If you smell these things you know what i mean...they smell seriously toxic. Poor baby girl had to spent the night in the hospital. $800 later and so much agony for her...her little heartbeat was up to 220! Everyone be careful!!! |

Thanks for the warning...I hope the poor little baby will be okay....:animal-pa :animal36 :aimeeyork |

Poor COCO :0( She has to stay another night at the hospital. Today she is vomiting and can't keep food down. The vet is sure it was toxic poisoning from that damn tennis ball from the "chuck it" ...and encouraged my friend to get ahold of the company and let them know. Just wanted to keep you updated...and everyone watch the toys you give the babies. Peace Diane & Melodi |

Another reason tennis balls are dangerous is because some dogs try to eat the fur off of them! I cannot give my yorkies tennis balls bc they literally try to eat them! Good thing I've taken them away! I'm glad that your little one is doing well. Hate to hear this happened. :( |

Thanks for the warning. I hate that your friend's Yorkie is having to go through this. I seriously hope the dog gets better. |

I would also ask the company to pay my vet bill. They may do it just to avoid a lawsuit. Save the ball in case you need to have it tested a a lab. And they can pay for the testing too. I sure hope she is OK. And back to normal soon. |

COCO is home! She is still worn down and her poor bum is raw :(. But a few days and I think she will be back to new----she s a fiesty one. We have contacted the company and they are looking into it---the owner of the company actually called twice today. The "chucker" itself is FINE. IT's the new tennis balls they are using that are the problem....something toxic in the colouring i think. I'll let you all now the end result. Bottom line is the sweet coco is home and we are VERY HAPPY!!!:p |
