Bladder Issues Remmy is off to the vet tomorrow morning...I'm afraid things are not looking well. He had bladder surgery in April to remove stones. Now he is doing some of the same things he did before. he is wanting to go out all the time...right after he just went out. He is urinating in the house and in his crate. I had to put a belly band on him cuz he just dribbles pee all over. I never see him do it but end up seeing it later. I hope there are other alternatives to surgery. he is on the prescription and it does not look like it has helped. |
POOR little Remmy :( I feel so bad for him AND you. I hate that you are having to deal with this. Hopefully the vet will be able to find a way to fix this problem he is having. Surely he doesn't like going potty all over himself. I am sure there is something medically wrong still that can be corrected. If your vet doesn't find anything, get a second opinion from someone else. Please keep us updated on how things progress. Hopefully everything will be better sooner than later. ;) :aimeeyork :) :animal36 :p :animal-pa  |
poor Remmy :( hopefully its just a UTI and it can be cleared up with ab's |
This is a home therapy method used (taken from www.veteraniansecretsrevealed) Hope you find the info useful Evaluation of the Genital and Urinary system. In male dogs look at the sheath of the penis to ensure there is no abnormal discharge. This is more common in intact males, so an easy remedy is to have your dog neutered. In female dogs examine the vulva. A common problem is skin fold infections . These can be treated by washing the skin folds twice daily with an antiseptic such as Hibitane and applying a soothing cream such as Aloe Vera. The urinary system is more difficult to evaluate, but there are some things you can do at home. Signs of a bladder infection are frequently urination, which may have blood and may be painful. There are a number of home remedies for bladder infections, the most effective are Vitamin C and Cranberry juice. The Vitamin C acidifies the urine making it more difficult for the bacteria to grow, as well as dissolving the more common type of crystal, struvite. The Vitamin C dose is 250mg per 20lbs daily. |

No Stones so Far Remmy went to the vet and had numerous xrays. He showed no stones (they think) showed something on xray but they feel like they are airbubbles not stones. He is on baytril and I think it is helping because he is not going to the door as much to be let out. Why would he keep getting bladder infections? I give him water out of the filter refridge. He eats the prescription Hills food. I don't know why he gets bladder infections? |
