lead poisioning??? I haveing my exterior house painted . So They are sanding the old paint away down to the wood. My Peanut is so friendly and i believe she has gotten into some of thechips or dust by interacting with the workers. I came home last night to my bedroom full of frothy vomit . There was some food juat a small amount but a majority frothy vomit . I took her into the vet er and the decieded to keep her . Her electrolytes wer a lil elvated as were he kidnieys . Im A nervous wreck . I feel like every one is being insensitive about the whole thing . I just need to vent . I m so worried she is only a lil under 4 lbs and not even a year old yet . |

I'm sorry about Little Peanut. Hopefully it won't be lead poisoning. I suggest that you find a place for her to stay until your home project gets finished and cleaned up. I'll say a prayer for Peanut. |

How old is your house? There might not be lead in the paint, depending on the age. Lead can be detected with a blood test, although I don't think there is any treatment even if it is detected (not sure about this though). |

My house was built in 1918 . I just got a call from the vet and she is in good spirits . You know i read the message board often and the only thing i can say is it takes a split second for your life to change . |

Hopefully she will be fine. It sounds like she's doing better. Thinking good thoughts for her. |

I hope she continues to feel better. I'll keep you both in my prayers. |

It's bad stuff! I was once certified in Lead and Asbestos Abatement. We had to wear a respirator to remove it and build a containment. Key2Yorkies ~ Jan |

In our area, the building must be vacated if the paint contains lead. And, it is suggested that it be sealed instead of removing by scraping or sanding or something. You can call poison control and ask them if there are other dangers to huans and animals. This is scary to me because I worked in the ER in the city and we saw so much lead poisoning in kids...even you should wear a mask when you are in the house even if they are NOT actually working removing paint. Sorry about all this mess... |
