Paw Licking Recently my 15 week old Yorkie has been constantly licking his paws. And today when I actually looked at his paws I noticed this wet pink bump growing.. Unfortuantely our vet is closed for the weekend and we have to bring him in tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone ever had this problem before. |
Maybe your baby is experiencing allergies. Do you feed dog food with corn in it? |
One of my dogs does this. I think it is a nervous habit, he's had many medical problems, and when he is stressed or bored it is worse. He may have stepped on a splinter and it is coming out though, or chewed a little bump. & like Nicole said, he may have allergies |
Sadie does this all of the time. The vet said she is just cleaning her paws, like a cat. Please let us know what you find out, as this could be an allergy, or some kind of nervous action. Then again, it may be normal. but the bump sounds abnormal. Good luck! |
my mom's yorkie does this too. the vet said she has allergies and she has to take an allergy pill everyday. now she's perfectly happy and healthy. no more licking. |
Jazzie did this too, she would lick & lick and drove me nuts and I felt so bad for her being in such discomfort! I thought it might be related to her allergies so I took Jazzie to her dermotologist who said it was yeast infection. Look at the base of the nail where it grows out of the paw. If there is red, tarry gunk there, that's an yeast infection. Check the ears too cuz the red goop can be there too. Your kiddo will need some antibiotics. Since then I use a very soft baby toothbrush to scrub her nails when she get her bath and I check her ears all the time. |
thanks for the feedback |
